For the moment, the "wolf" that had confronted Sarah didn't know about her transformation into a female version of himself. He was teenage male werewolf, in reality, who spent much of his time in the woods and on his own. There were others and they were a Pack that he belonged to, but to a great extent, he preferred to be on his own. As such he didn't know the human forms of all the pack members. His only concern was to deal with this grandmother that had invaded "his" woods and then deal with the granddaughter when she arrived. The woods were his and his pack's, and humans needed to learn and remember that.
In his fast and direct path to the grandmother's house, he arrived well before Sarah even transformed. He also decided on taking the direct approach. He noticed an open window and raced for it at full speed. He leaped in and skidded to a halt in front of an elderly woman who was carrying in some laundry from another room. The woman gave a scream and fell backward, dropping the laundry when she saw him.
"Hello, my dear," the wolf growled menacingly at the elderly woman and rose up onto his hind legs to tower over her.
As he stood up, however, he noticed something odd. The woman had given a terrified yell, that delighted him, but she wasn't running. In fact, he watched as grayish silver fur was beginning to grow over her body. As he watched there was a sicking crunch as woman's finger and toenails burst open to reveal growing claws. She was beginning to scream again as various muscle groups enlarged, but the screams were deeper, more guttural, more wolf-like.
"Ahhrrr... ahrrrrrrrrooo!" the grandmother screamed as her canines began to lengthen into fangs and her changing body began to strain her clothes. She could feel pressure building at the end of her spine and in her face.
The wolf backed away almost sheepishly as the woman continued to transform, wincing as her face began to push out into a muzzle, and her growls growing louder and louder. The grandmother was now climbing back onto digitigrade legs and began to crouch before the wolf. Then, he watched as a silver gray tail grew out behind her and she let out a loud howl.
"AAAHHHWROOOOOOOOOOOO!" the grandmother howled.
"Elder Balthilde!" the wolf gasped.
The grandmother, Balthilde only responded with a slap that nearly made the wolf spin around completely.
"Bigby you idiot! Don't you know that that was one of my better nightgowns you just made me destroy!" Balthilde growled at him angrily.
"I'm sorry, Elder Balthilde, it's just that I met this girl in the woods, she said she was going to her grandmother's and said she lived here and figured it was another human that was trespassing on the Pack's territory," the wolf, Bigby, answered.
Balthilde brought her paw to her face and rubbed her temples at that.
"Bigby, THIS is why we've urged you to spend more time with the pack when we're in human form and spend more time IN human form," Balthilde answered, "the girl you talked to is Sarah, MY granddaughter. She's only a year younger then you and approaching the age when her own lycanthropic abilities will awaken within her... and it's going to take me hours to calm down and change back after the start you just gave me... which means I'm going to have to explain to my granddaughter that not only are her parents and myself werewolves but that she is one as well."
"I'm sorry, Elder Balthilde," Bigby gave a low whine, only to hear steps outside the cottage.
"That's probably her now," Balthilde sighed, "stay here. I'm not through with you, yet."
Bigby only gulped as Balthilde left the bedroom he had stormed into.
