After another few weeks, Marion Carter Brown had nearly given up looking for her husband David. There just wasn't any evidence concerning his disappearance coming up. She began to lose hope of ever seeing him again.
Until one day when she received a package from an anonymous person through the mail. Opening the package, she saw a DVD in a plastic disc case. There was no label on it, but also inside the package was a note, stating that this had something to do with her husband's disappearance.
Immediately, she took the disc out and put it in her DVD player. What came up on her screen was a video, not very well shot. But it was clear enough that she could make out her husband's car parking in a deserted parking lot. It was the rest stop, the one where the police said they found David's car. How did someone get a video of this? Why would someone even be filming there in the middle of the night anyway? These questions would have to wait, though. Right now, she was more interested in what was happening in the video.
She watched as the car was parked, then a person emerged. It was David! He walked towards the men's restroom, then went inside. Nothing happened for a time, maybe as much as ten minutes. And then the door opened again. But David didn't come out. Instead, two other people emerged from the restroom. One man and one woman. They were dressed like bikers. But what happened to David? Where was he? She waited a minute or so, nearly holding her breath, waiting for her husband to emerge, but he didn't. And then the video went to static.
"What? No, there has to be more," she said, almost panicking. This was the closest that she had ever come to finding out where her husband was, but it didn't really tell her anything new. She already knew that that's where his car was abandoned, as the police told her. But ... maybe she missed something.
She hit "rewind", then hit play right before the two bikers left the restroom. She looked closely at the doorway, hoping to catch a glimpse of movement inside. But there was none. There was just the two bikers and no one else.
But then she blinked. "Wait, what was that?"
She hit 'rewind' again, then hit play right before the bikers left the restroom. Then she paused it.
"No way," she said, staring. The woman biker ... she was the one who stopped by her house a few weeks ago, claiming to have knowledge about David. It was her! The woman was most likely nuts, saying that she was David (Marion wasn't an idiot ... that woman was obviously female), but after watching this video, she knew that woman probably knew something about her husband. And she threw her out!
Marion had to find her. Maybe the biker chick was off her rocker, but she knew something about David's disappearance. She had to know what she remembered about that night.
