Walking into the park for perhaps the hundredth time, you realize you've been getting
bored.
"Man," you say, exhausted, "this is ridiculous! It's been forever since anyone here has
posted anything! There are no new chapters, no new stories or chains added to this one. I
think I may be a veteran of these old, dusty archived stories."
The veracity of your statement suddenly catches up to you, and you realize that you indeed
are a veteran of this website. You've visited so many stories, traveled with so many
companions, and transformed into so many beings, animals and objects that you can
hardly count anymore. You've done everything in the textbook, and beyond. Through
carnivals, through mansions, through cabins, through forests, through almost every event
and possibility, you've made it through.
With all this running through your mind, it doesn't take long for you to reach your arms
into the sky, and scream into the depths of this old park, "I'M A VETERAN!!! I MADE IT!!! I'M
A CHAMPION!! YEEEEESSS!!!"
"THEN PROVE IT."
A loud godlike voice rains down from above, and suddenly, the park that you are so
familiar with, the one where countless times you've been transformed, changed, or
otherwise morphed, disappears, and you fall into blackness. You should've paid attention
to your hubris.
"Shut up narrator, I don't need you giving me moral advice," you groan as the blackness
knocks you out.

When you wake up, you find yourself in a room. The only thing that you can see is a torch,
hanging on the wall. Getting up, you stretch your back and sigh. No way out of this.
"HELLO, FRIEND," the god voice booms. "ALLOW ME TO INTRODUCE MYSELF. I AM THE
GUARDIAN OF THE CYOC ARCHIVES, ALTHOUGH YOU MAY CALL ME GOD-VOICE. I AM HERE
TO OFFER YOU A CHALLENGE."
"OOooooh, what kind of challenge?" You ask, licking your lips and rubbing your hands
together, eager for action. This is new. Never before had a challenge been offered to you!
Then again, this is the first time you've declared yourself a champion.
"A SPUNKY ONE, ARE YOU. WELL. THE CHALLENGE IS..."
The room extends, and a hallway stretches out in front of you, with the usual doors and
picture frames. Torches also appear between every other doorway or picture frame.
"ESCAPE THIS DUNGEON..."
"Hmm, should be easy," you say to yourself, cracking your knuckles.
"...WITH YOUR ORIGINAL FORM."
Ooh. That throws a wrench into all of your plans. In certain stories you would have been
able to escape if you could change, to give an example, into a ghost or rat. But now you're
stuck as your scrawny self, and any transformations break those rules that the Guardian of
the Cyoc Archives (Or God-Voice) has stated.
"Shut up, narrator," you growl. "You think I became a veteran that easily? This will be a
piece of cake."
Whatever, dude. I'm just telling you the story.
Aaaaanyways, you grab the torch, take a hackneyed gulp, and begin to make your way
down the hall. As you walk down, you begin to notice markings on each door, and various
animals and people populate the picture frames. Although you were a veteran of other
stories, most of them involved you actively trying to get yourself transformed. This is
different, and it takes all of your willpower not to open a door or touch a picture frame.
You finally get to the end of the hall. There's a solid door there, with no telling what's on
the other side. On either side of you are cabinets, probably filled with treasures or objects
that could potentially transform you. Above those cabinets are paintings. One is of a
basket of fruit, the other is a rendition of Starry Night.
Remember, the goal is to make it out without becoming something else.
