It took much longer, a week at least, before another prince came. By then, Morgana had gotten lax. As such,
when a prince did come, she was caught off guard. By that, I mean she was in the bath. So, when she teleported
into that cage again, she was in a noticeably bad mood. And naked, she was also naked.
"Honestly, the nerve of these princes. Back when I was an adventurer, I made sure my enemy had time to
prepare. I mean, what's the fun in just killing your nemesis?" Morgana ranted.
"Wait, you were an adventurer?" I asked as Morgana poofed her clothes on.
"Not just any adventurer, the best adventurer. Anyway, I'll tell you more later if you want. Right now, I have
to deal with this jerk." She said as she pulled out a spell book. "Hey by the way, do you know who this one
is?"
I looked out the window to see, and sure enough I knew him. The red hunter's cap and cloak, gray armor, and
bright white steed, it could only be Prince Philip. But he was married, what could he want with me?
"Looks like that was a yes. So, who is he?" Morgana asked.
"He's Prince Philip. He used to come to balls in my kingdom, but he was betrothed. In fact, he got married
last year after he killed the evil fairy Maleficent." I responded.
"Wait, this is the guy who brought down Maleficent? I need a new plan entirely." Morgana said, throwing the
book she was reading behind her. She pulled out a different one, a very thick and old one, from her shelves.
"Why? What are you going to do?" I asked.
"I have to go with a spell I can cast that his sword won't protect him from. The damn thing is enchanted,
which is the only reason he was able to take down Maleficent." Morgana said.
Just then, there was a loud banging sound as the front door was knocked off its hinges. This sent Morgana into
a panic, flipping rapidly through the book until she found the right page.
"Cross your fingers Sara, I haven't used this since I was in a university." Morgana said as she pushed a tray
full of ingredients into a cauldron.
"Open this door! I am here to save the princess!" Philip said from the other side of the door.
"Just a minute! She's um... indecent." Morgana said, zapping my clothes off as she continued working with the
cauldron.
"Hey! What are you doing?" I said.
"Shut up while I finish this." Morgana replied.
"You have until the count of ten to open the door and hand me the princess." Philip shouted.
"I can probably finish in that much time." Morgana said.
"1!" Morgana stirred the cauldron again. "2!" She pulled out a large vial. "3!" She dunked the vial into the
brew. "4!" She corked the vial and began shaking it. "5!" She set the vial on a table. "6"! She started making
most of the furniture vanish. "7!" She teleported me back to my room. The next three seconds seemed to last
forever. At the end, Morgana teleported into the room.
"What's going on?" Maedel asked.
"Shh, we can't risk him hearing us." Morgana said as she summoned a new mirror. It showed the room, which was
empty except for a table with a large vial on it and Prince Philip. He walked toward the vial.
"Ha! Wherever you are witch, don't think I'm foolish enough to actually drink this!" He shouted to no one in
particular. After trying to find something in the room, he returned to the vial. After staring at it for a few
minutes, he picked it up. The moment he did, Morgana cast a spell into the mirror that made the vial explode.
"Ah! What is that? Oh, I see, you're trying to frighten me. I must admit, I didn't expect that. However, my
armor protects me from the glass and your foul brew." Philip said triumphantly.
"Sara, those sleeves are leather right?" Morgana asked.
"Yes, they look like it." I responded, not sure where she was going with this.
"Well then, it looks like his armor won't protect much." She said with a grin. As she did, Philip began to
shrink. It was slow, but it was noticeable. Also noticeable was the fact that he was turning green. After a
few moments, he had shrunk enough that I couldn't see him through his armor.
"So, now can I ask what's going on?" Maedel asked.
"No, don't bother. I'll just tell you. I'm sure you are both aware of the spell that witches commonly use to
turn princes into frogs, correct?" Morgana said. I nodded and Maedel voiced her agreement.
"Well, this is a potion that does that. However, it needs to be ingested to take effect. So, most witches
prefer the spell form. The problem is, Philip's sword protects him from spells. Potions still work on him, but
he's smart enough to not drink from big vials in witches' castles. So, I had to change the spell a bit. You
see, back in my university days, the potions master was a witch. She taught us a variety of nasty brews, but
no lesson was as important as the one that featured DMSO as a main ingredient. DMSO, when mixed with a liquid,
allows said liquid to dissolve through porous materials. This includes leather armor and skin. So, I simply
combined the frog potion with some DMSO and set the vial to explode when I wanted it to. Now, Prince Philip
has turned into a little Frog Prince." Morgana explained. "Now, if you don't mind, I'm going to go see the
poor sap."
With that, Morgana teleported back into the spell room, taking the mirror with her.
"What do you think she's doing?" Maedel asked.
"I don't know, give me a minute." I said, running to the door. Unfortunately, the magic lock was still there,
so I was stuck.
