"This is not cool!" Cal yelled as he hurtled through the brush. The boar had left hours ago, but now they had
a new problem. Players. Gabe and Cal had somehow gotten split off from the rest, and wandered into an
adventurer's camp. Now, they were being chased by said adventurer. Thank goodness the mount was slowed in the
thick brush, or they would be cleaning up after it by now. Gabe was starting to lag behind, and Cal knew they
had to stick together. If it were him, he would chase them both down, even after he caught one.
"Gabe, if we ever get out of this, remind me to release my orphans!" Cal shouted back.
"Why are you yelling?" Gabe asked.
Cal realized that they were now fairly close. Looking back to the forest in front of him, Cal was unprepared
for what happened next. Gabe tackled him.
"Oof. What the hell man?" Cal asked.
"Shh, you'll get us caught." Gabe whispered.
Soon, a great big white tiger ran right over the two of them. After another few minutes, they stood up.
"You OK?" Gabe asked.
"He stepped on my hand, but I'll be fine." Cal responded.
"Good. We need to get back to the road. We'll find Rebeca and the others better that way." GAbe said.
"Since when are you the forest tracker guy?" Cal asked. Had it been any of the other members of his party, Cal
would have meant it as an insult, but with little Gabe, it was more of a joke.
"Since I saved us just now. And to think Mommy said I should stop playing Hide and Seek." Gabe said. The two
laughed and kept walking. After a few minutes, they realized they were lost.
"So, tracker guy, any ideas?" Cal asked.
"Well, if Rebeca's idea didn't work, we should use the other one." Gabe said. Thinking it was a good idea, Cal
started climbing the nearest tree.
When he got to the top, Cal found out two problems with this plan. One: It was the middle of the night, and he
couldn't see anything. Two: There was a giant dire condor flying right at him.
"Shit." Cal said as he jumped down the tree. If not for a few tree branches he fell onto, he would have been
worried about falling damage.
"We need to move now." Cal said.
"Why? What's wrong?" Gabe asked.
"There's a big hungry bird about to attack us." Cal replied, already running off.
"OK, that's a good reason." Gabe said, following after Cal. Eventually, he hoped they would stop getting
attacked all the time. Gabe just hoped the others were doing alright. Just then, the bird tore through the
trees headed right for him. Cal humped and tackled it into a tree.
"Come on, if we kill this thing, we might hit... Oh God, we're grinding for level 1." Cal said, picking up a
rock and beating the condor with it. Gabe joined in soon after. Together, the killed the beast. Unfortunately,
orphans can't level up. As such, they kept on wandering around as two level 0 orphans trying to find a road.
