"Yeah, no. We're going." Will said, continuing to walk off.
"What? Guys, the city is being attacked! You have to help." Logan said.
"I'm with Will, these guys kicked our asses in the tavern before combat even started. I don't want to see what
they have ability-wise." Alex said.
"Great, now I have to follow you. I'm not so stupid I would go out alone." Michael said.
"This is going to take some rewriting." Logan said.
"Oh, I'm sorry, did we jump off your railroad already? At least dangle a carrot in front of us." Will said.
"Like pirate treasure?" Logan said.
"In the middle of the town?" Michael asked.
"OK fine, I'll just rewrite it." Logan said.
The three adventurers climbed into their boat and set sail. After an hour or so, the goblin pirates had set
off as well, and were right on the heroes' tails.
"Paddle! Paddle!" Alex screamed.
"I'm trying, but girly over here isn't pushing hard enough." Michael replied.
"Then grab my oar and do it yourself. It's stupid to think this is going to work the way we're trying." Will
said. Just then, the pirates' ship sailed up next to them.
"Ahoy! You look like you could use some help." A goblin said in an accent that sounded like Ringo Star with a
cold.
"No, we're fine. Thanks though." Will said.
The pirate pulled out a hand-crossbow and aimed at the adventurers. "Perhaps I wasn't clear. You're going to
come up here so we can 'help' you." He said.
"Maybe we can work out a deal." Will said. Just then, he noticed Alex had started crawling up the side of the
pirates' ship.
"That depends. What are you offering?" The pirate asked.
"Come down here and I'll tell you." Will said as he pulled the hem of his shirt down a bit. Apparently, his
charisma was better than he thought, because this made the goblin practically jump out of his boat and into
theirs.
"Well then, what did you have in mind?" The pirate asked. Unfortunately for him, Michael was less willing to
cooperate. In moments, the goblin had been thrown a good distance away from the boat.
"That worked. Now, let's find out what Alex is doing." Will said as he began climbing out of the boat and onto
the pirate ship.
"What the? Who are you? Ah! That's me leg! I need that! Get him boys!" Came a voice from aboard the ship. The
accent was just bad enough that it had to be one of the pirates.
"Crap. OK, new plan, throw me onto the ship." Will said, jumping back into Michael's arms. After a moment of
confusion, Michael complied.
Will landed on deck with a thud. He had only hurt his feet a bit, not enough to worry about. As such, he drew
his sword and prepared to fight. However, it looked like he had better chances in the rowboat. On the deck of
the ship, Alex was surrounded by a dozen or so pirate goblins and losing.
"Ahem. If I may be so bold, I would ask that you unhand my friend. Else you'll have to face my magic powers."
Will said.
The goblins were stunned for a moment before bursting into laughter. "You? Magic? If you're so magical, why'd
you bring a sword? I never seen a wizard what cut some bloke up." One of them said. He was promptly dispatched
by Alex's knives.
"Thank you. As for the rest of you, he's right. You've never seen a wizard like me before. And unless you want
to experience some of the most powerful magic in existence, you will turn your ship over to us." Will said.
Some of the goblins backed up, one of them right into Alex's daggers, but the others stood their ground. As he
waited for a response, Will heard the sound of Michael climbing up onto the boat.
"Now you're in for it. Because you waited, I've summoned my green golem. Soon, he'll be making mince meat out
of you." Will said, smirking as Alex continued stabbing the distracted goblins. Now, a few of them had
actually started jumping ship. Still, there were a half dozen goblins left by the time Michael was on the
ship.
"What'd I miss?" He asked.
"Only the most magnificent distraction of all time. Oh, and kill those goblins for me." Will said.
Alex and Michael took out the remaining pirates in no time at all.
"So, we have a better boat now." Alex said.
"What the hell is wrong with you? You climbed up here alone, thought you could take on more than ten guys at
once, and didn't even say anything? Do you want to die?" Will yelled.
"Relax, it's just a game." Alex said.
"Just a game wouldn't have given me tits and Michael an extra foot and a half. If we die here, we might just
die in real life." Will said.
"Oh. That... hadn't occurred to me." Alex said.
"Guys, if you're done arguing like little girls, Will you're excused for once, we should see what this place
has." Michael said.
Deciding this was a good idea, the adventurers went to the door that led below.
