At next Zoey led Luke and Robert to the some shacks standing around what looked like an acre. Luke saw several halflings working on the fields.
"This is the farm.", explained Zoey, "Here we reap our corn and vegetables, like the ones I brought you during your transformation."
Luke saw that there was a fruit grove behind the shacks and watched as a female centaur (or a horse girl like Robert would call it) carried some
baskets with apples into a large wooden building.
"This is our storehouse.", said Robert, "This is were we store our food and other resources like wood or metal."
"You use metal?", asked Luke surprised. All the things she had seen so far were wooden and she thought that the halfings simply didn't have the
possibility to work with metal.
"Oh, yeah. We have a small mine at the foot of the mountain in the middle of the island were Greg and Owen prospect iron for us.", said Robert
pointing at the mountain. "But mostly we use metal that we scavenge from ship wreckages at the coast and underwater. It is kinda useful to have
some people who can work long times underwater. You would be surprised what treasures lie at the sea ground before this island."
Zoey and Robert showed Luke more parts of the halfling village and their lives, which she soon should be a part of. Luke saw a group of halflings
going to the forest to chop some trees, a man with the lower body of a goat constructing a wooden table in a workshop and two girls who did
pottery. She also saw the blacksmith, a girl which Zoey called Hannah, who looked no older than eighteen. Her upper body was mostly human,
but had the arms and lower body of a gorilla and was hammering on piece of metal with her huge fist holding a small hammer.
"Oh, look. You are not alone with your problems.", said Zoey and pointed at a guy with an lizard tail and lizard claws carrying some wood planks.
Most of his body was covered in red scales. "Stan there was actually Stacy before she drank from the water and became a lizard man."
"So than it's true what Lori said. Our newcomer was once a male.", stated Robert looking at Luke. Instinctively she covered her breasts with her
claws and lowered her head in shame. "No, don't be ashamed. It is no problem for anyone here. All our lives changed a lot through the changes.
Some of us only changed a bit more. Nobody will mind that you were once a male.", said Robert and put a pincer on Luke's back to comfort her.
"Oh, I forgot something!", exclaimed Zoey, "I should bring you to Eve. She probably want to check her." With these words Zoey dragged Luke to a
hut which was a bit larger than most ones while Robert excused himself and went back to the pond for refreshing. But he said that he would be
pleased to see Luke again. Inside hut were some boards filled with bottles and pots and a large table was in the center of the room.
"Hey, Doc? Are you there?", shouted Zoey once they were in. "I am coming.", hissed a voice from s separated back room of the hut.
"This Eve, our doctor.", introduced Zoey the figure which came from the back. Doctor Eve had no legs and was slithering on the huge tail of a
rattlesnake. Also her skin was mostly covered in scales and she had reptilian eyes, a forked tongue and fangs, which led to her hissing speech.
"Ah, ssssso you are our newcomer.", said the Doc. "I am thisssss village medic, nicccce to meet you. What'ssss your name?"
"Well, I am Lucy now, I assume.", said Luke and shook Eve's hand.
"Ah, rare casssse gender ssssswap. I talked with Lori thisssss morning. Don't worry about thissssss. You are not the firssssst one.", said Eve, " I
would like to make ssssome tesssstsss to you to make ssssssure you were healthy. Oh, and I would alsssso like to take an exxxxample of your
venom, if that'ssss okay for you Luccccy. Jusssst a routine. I ussse the venomssss assss ingredientssss in sssssome of my mediccccinessss."
