Jake would sit at the tv and watch his old tapes. Reliving his old glory. But with his knees no longer able to
hold him up he was confined to an easy chair or his electric scooter. And that did very little for his ever
expanding waist line.
That last injury had done him in. The steroids had packed the weight on as he laid in the hospital recovering
and with little to no determination to get back to some physical activity since his career was over he just blew
up like a balloon. His girlfriend left him. His team mates visits became less and less frequent and his
frequenting the buffets increased.
Jake remembered every minute of his career as a baseball player when he put that cap on and he remembered the
injury. Having been a good sturdy catcher in his memory he realized that he now was more than twice his playing
weight putting him well over 500. But as the realization hit him that the baseball cap made him this way he
tried to make a commitment to change himself but that was not to be. Particularly with his new personal
assistant. He seemed to enjoy Jake being fat and jiggly.
