Nate carefully folded the note and placed it in the pocket of his tattered pants. Not sure if this was a joke or not, he carefully looked over his hands and feet. He found they were no longer makeup appliances, they were part of him. He ripped open his shirt, revealing a chest and waist covered in cascading brown, black a grey fur. It had now covered his entire body.
His heart was racing. This was real. He was now a real werewolf. He couldn't help but smile from ear to ear. He let out a loud howl of excitement. He dropped to all fours and ran home. It felt so natural to him, running like this, which felt both exhilarating and a little weird to him. As he approached his building, he returned to two legs and dug out his keys. He unlocked the front door, then quickly walked to his apartment door, unlocked it and went in, hoping his neighbors didn't see him.
Nate closed the door behind him and locked it. He stripped off his pants and the remainder of his shirt. He walked into his bedroom and checked himself out in the full length mirror. His body was covered in a thick, brown, grey and black fur, his ears were lupine points and teeth were sharp fangs.
He laid down on his bed and wondered if he would be able to transform any time he wanted, or if he would only transform on the full moon. Still, either way he couldn't help but feel this was the most awesome thing to ever happen to him as he drifted off to sleep.
Nate awoke with a start the next morning. He glanced at the bedside clock and saw it read 9:45 a.m. Luckily it was Sunday, so sleeping in wasn't a big deal. He looked over himself and saw he was back to his normal self. He sat up in bed and looked over himself. Back to his old self, no trace of the werewolf.
"I guess it really is real," said Nate, smiling.
He decided to see if he could transform at will. He tried to focus and imagine himself transforming...
