As they approached the school, they were nearly blinded by a sudden bright light. They shielded their eyes and heard a car door slam.
"Where are you two heading at this hour?" a man asked them. When their eyes adjusted to the light, Jen and Zach saw a pair of police
officers walking towards them from their police car.
"We're dropping off milk for my football team's game-day breakfast tomorrow," Zach quickly explained. "It was my turn to get it this time,
and I just remembered an hour ago that I had to do that."
"Can't you wait to drop it off in the morning?" the other male officer asked.
"Well, the mothers who make the breakfast get there WAY before anyone else does," Jen replied. "If they don't have milk, they won't be
able to make very much."
"And I'll get a lot of heat from my coach," Zach added.
"But why do you have the milk in buckets?" the first officer inquired, pointing a flash light at the milk.
"My folks own some cows. Plus, the grocery store was already closed by the time I remembered," Zach answered.
"Well, okay then," the second officer said, appearing to be not fully convinced. "But we'll follow you inside." They all walked into the school.
The officer watched the two of them as they placed the buckets into the refrigerators.
Now what?
