The first things that popped into my mind as missing from this castle were any kind of kitchen or dining
areas. I wouldn’t have expected those at first, but after seeing these modern bedrooms and bathrooms, surely
such rooms must exist within these stone walls. Also, none of the bedrooms I saw struck me as being worthy of
the master of a castle. I left the huge room that I decided to call a lounge and walked back into the
hallway. I noticed that the light coming in from outside had grown dimmer. It was getting late.
I had other plans that I wanted to act upon as quickly as possible. I didn’t feel like taking the time to
explore the castle further at this point. So I just wished that I had full, conscious knowledge of the castle
layout. The knowledge rushed into my head. I realized that there were other rooms on the first floor that I
had not explored. There was a kitchen and a dining room. There was also a library. I figured there would be
plenty of time to explore them later.
The most important piece of knowledge I gained was the location of the master chamber. It was located on the
third floor. However, there was no way to access the third floor by any kind of conventional means. There
was no staircase to the third floor. There was neither a ladder nor an elevator, nothing at all. The third
floor could only be accessed by magical means.
I walked back into the lounge and looked up at the ceiling. It was solid stone, just like all of the walls.
In order to get to the master chamber, I’d have to use more of my supernatural abilities. Again I closed my
eyes and concentrated hard. I felt my feet lift off the floor. I opened my eyes and looked down to see
myself levitating up from the floor. I quickly focused my attention on the ceiling instead of the floor. As
it came closer I grew more worried. If I was wrong my brains would be splattered. Instinctively I lifted up
my hands to brace myself. But when I reached the ceiling, instead of bumping into it, I simply passed through
it.
It was weird as I passed through solid stone. The sight of solid stone passed and I found myself enter a new
room. Once my entire body was through the floor, I realized that I did not stop and I was still levitating.
I concentrated again and stopped going up. I fell back to the floor and my feet felt solid stone again. I
couldn’t see anything as the room was pitch black. Again I commanded, “Light!” Several torches and candles
lit throughout the room. The room was smaller than the lounge below it. I looked around and found that the
room was completely empty except for one very large bed. The bed was an old-fashioned canopy-type bed. The
bed itself was very large, and looked like several people could sleep on it comfortably. It had four posts
with curtains that could be drawn if wanted. I looked at the bed and smiled. I had some ideas for how I
wanted to use that bed.
I decided I’d seen enough of the castle for now. I wanted to continue on with my plans at this point. I
said, “Extinguish,” and instantly the room was dark again. In order to save time I wished I was back on the
second floor. I found myself standing in the lounge. The lights in this room were still on. So I said
“Extinguish all lights.” The lights in the lounge went out. I walked into the hallway and saw that those
lights were also out. I returned to the first floor which was also dark.
I walked out of the front door. Once again I used my voice to get the door to open and close. I descended
the outdoor staircase. Dusk was beginning, so the woods had grown much darker. I turned around and looked at
the castle. I made a new wish that the castle would be completely undetectable except by me and anyone else I
may further wish to find it. This should give it sufficient cover.
I knew exactly what I wanted to do next.
