Logan and Circuit had been walking for hours. They hadn't even past a road yet, and they were starting to get hungry and irritated. Logan, trying to keep his mind off the perpetual walking, tried to strike up a conversation.
"So, what's it like to live in a video-game?" He asked.
"Well, no-name heroes try to kill me every damn day, and they keep stealing my stuff. Other than that, it's OK." Circuit replied.
"Ouch. Well, you can't die, that's a plus right?" Logan said.
"I guess, but I don't really get out too much. I mean, this is the first time in weeks that I left the "dungeon" I hang out in, and that's because the server is down." Circuit said.
"Yeah, what do you guys normally do when that happens?" Logan asked.
"Well, Poison Oak and the Jester's sidekick hit the beach, sometimes I go with them. The heroes are always fun to mess with. This time, I was heading back from a heist with Felinewoman. Man can that girl rob a place. Of course, the servers should be back up in a couple hours, so I'm not sure what that'll do." Circuit said.
"Maybe it'll just teleport you back to your hideout?" Logan suggested.
"That would be convenient yeah. On the other hand, it might just shut down the place until I get back." Circuit said.
"How long is it until the server comes back?" Logan asked.
"About... forty minutes. Why?" Circuit asked.
"If I'm with you, and you do teleport back, we can both get to Epitropolis faster, which means we can get paid faster." Logan said.
"Now you're talking. If that's the plan, I don't see why we're walking." Circuit said as she sat down on the grass.
"You're right. All we have to do is wait." Logan said as he sat down as well.
