Circe was fast learning the ways and means of the year she was residing. As she got back to the mansion she used the phone and called for a new Electrician and another Carpenter to replace two previously sent. She gave no reason for their not coming to work and none was asked by the Union Steward.
Later in the morning came a white van truck with the name Benson Brothers Electrical Service on the side. It parked in the side lot very near to another van with the same name.
"Hello, I'm Jerry Benson, My brother was working out here already cause I see his truck parked in the service lot. Is he having trouble? Some of these old mansions can be a real goat to work with!" said Jerry as he met Circe sitting on the front porch.
"My oh my, I think your brother was working upstairs last I saw him but if you check the basement I really think your services are needed there. Come I'll show you what is needed done!" said Circe as she got up to walk the man to his place of work.
As the two stepped down into the basement the erie light glowing off the Traveler lit the basement in a light blue.
Jerry looked over the wiring above his head. The man began doing what he was there for as he traced the wires back to three large service panels.
"I see you know what to look for and will be just fine. I'll return upstairs, call me if you need anything." said Circe as she gracefully turned and proceeded to climb the stairs.
Jerry smiled as he thought of the money he'd make replacing all the old wire in this house.
As Circe entered the foyer a knock to the front door sent her gamboling host of beasts scurring for cover. The third ring of the doorbell and she opened it to a tall lanky youth.
"Afternoon Lady, I'm Christopher Lee the Carpenter you asked the Union to send out!"
Circe smiled and turned about motioned for him to follow. Up the grand stairs she took him to where Allen had last worked before Erica made him less than worthy of living in a mansion like her's.
Chris looked about as Circe pointed out what trim work she wanted replaced.
"Looks easy enough Lady, all I ask is that none of the servants bother me as I work, I might get noisy with saws and hammering but I do work and stay with it!" said Chris as Circe smiled.
Her two main workmen placed and set she returned to hear the muffled screams of George Mooney the Plumber. Quickly she shuffled along to the East wing and the bathroom he was working in these past four days. George to say the least was very slow and needed many coffee breaks to think about what he needed to do next.
As she got closer to the long hallway she heard the familar voice of a high pitched female pig speaking, if not rambaling.
Circe entered the big bathroom made for guests who may have come for a party or Ball. In one corners stood a short and fat man named George. Directly in front of him stood a hearty fat sow chattering like a Magpie about all the things she'd seen since she was contained into the form of a sow.
"Jellmyria!" said Circe sternly.
The sow stopped her chattering and turned to look at her Queen. Bending a foreleg to the floor she bowed to Circe. "I'm just talking to the service man here, he's such a nice fellow!" said Jellmyria.
"It can talk! The damn hog can talk, like people! yelled George still in the corner and sweating big drips off his forehead.
"Jellmyria, go!" ordered Circe as the sow scrambled on hard hooves over the tile floor.
"I'm sorry that Jellmyria came and disturbed you, she doesn't mean to scare anyone! A freak of nature you would call her, born with a human brain she now is a sow, but thinks as if she were human, very odd!" explained Circe as George seemed to inch out of his corner a little.
"Damn Strange if you ask me!" grumbled George. "You let the thing wander the mansion do you?" he asked still mad and disturbed.
"Oh there are others too that I have collected, please don't be annoyed by them. Oh, if any give you any trouble just say to them that Queenie is looking for them and they will scurry away." suggested Circe.
George just chewed his cigar and slowly went back to work thinking about what to do next.
"I must say, never on Aenea did I have these problems, oh but then once a man arrived he didn't last long before he was in a more perfect form. A lot of trouble these Union men!" said Circe to herself as she went back to the front porch and watch the Southern sky.
