Jeff had expected to become Sinbad or Aladdin or Ali Baba, but he hadn't selected one of these. There are
only a couple characters that appear throughout the book, and most people choose to disregard them as a
framing device.
Jeff looked down at the skimpy harem garb covering his now curvaceous body. Was he Jasmine?
"Ah, daughter, it is arranged," said the Vizier sadly, "Tomorrow you wed our great monarch." He sighed, and
added in a dejected tone, "And the following day, you will be beheaded."
Say what? thought Jeff who really had never read the 1001 Arabian Nights before, but he was trapped in the
computer program. So his now sweet feminine voice said, "Oh, don't worry papa. I have a plan. Someone has to
stop the king's serial marriages and executions."
"Scherazade, my precious daughter, do you really think you can?"
"We shall see, father."
Jeff found himself being pampered by slaves and eunuchs, as they prepared Scherazade for her wedding to the
shah. He had seen the movie Flash Gordon, and what was happening to him reminded him of the scene where Dale
Arden was prepared to become Ming's latest bride. They dressed Scherazade in fine silks and jewelry befitting
their new queen.
