Billy Thatcher, 9 year old, had been spending the previous day playing with his friends, but that didn't stop him from getting up early (around 6 am) and start to watch Saturday Morning Cartoons. He loved Cartoon Network, especially Bugs Bunny, and since his parents wasn't up yet, he could enjoy the TV in peace. He felt thirsty and left his "babysitter" for a while, heading towards the kitchen.
After a quick check through the cooler he found that the only milk carton they had wasn't open. He remembered how his father had scolded him from drinking the milk before breakfast, so he decided for some water instead.
He went over to the tap and turned it on. He couldn't reach the glasses so he had to drink directly from the tap, not that he minded.
He took many long gulps of fresh water before he wiped his face and returned to the TV.
Like Billy, this process was more or less repeated through the whole town. Some showered in the water, other drank it like Billy, or brushed their teeth with it. No one really paid it any mind. Not yet at least...
