How Can This Day Get Any Weirder?

added by Fitzroy Clement 10 years ago AR TG O

Before Steve or Carl could reply to either of their wives outbursts, they were cut off again by Janet.

"Stephanie, can you believe those guys? They're so selfish. You and Carly are lucky that you have such
thoughtful husbands who doesn't get shitfaced every weekend."

"W-what?" said Steve in a high womanly voice. He was too distracted by the shock of what was happening to
notice what his wife said. His car was driving down the avenue, making a right.

"The fishing trip! I swear that man never makes good on his promises. And before you two got here, Wendy was
going on about how Carl was supposed to cook her a make-up dinner tonight for not showing up the last time he
was supposed to make up for something he didn't do. Grrr..." gasped Janet, shaking her head.

"It's OK" said Wendy. "Carly, you can help me make the dinner again. C'mon, Brooke has been so excited,
waiting to see you again...", and the two of them went into their house.

Janet made her way back into her house, dragging the new Steve in by the wrist in an angry yet totally
nonchalant way. It was as if she didn't even know what just happened.

If I...Steve... and Carl went off to go fishing...then who am I? Janet called me Stephanie. Who's Stephanie?
And I have a husband? Oh my god, I'm in The Twilight Zone....

Steve took a quick glance at the family photos, and instead of seeing himself, he saw another man altogether!
He was balding, had a beard that looked like it hadn't been combed since the Clinton Administration, a massive
beer belly, and a fat, stupid looking face. His cloths were all ill fitting due to said girth. What was worse,
almost heart breaking, was that Alan and Megan looked totally different since in this...new reality or
whatever it was, Steve had apparently never fathered them himself. It was this "new" Steve who had done so.

A man who looked like a Brawney Paper Towel man was sitting on the couch, reading a newspaper. He had a
flannel shirt on, lumberjack boots, two pairs of pants and a full beard.

"Hey girls. Boys leave yet?"

"Yeah. Thanks for chopping up all of that firewood for us, Gene. It's nice to have a big, strong man in the
house for a change. Steve is capable of doing it, but he's just so damn lazy..."

"It's no problem, Janet. It's my job. I would do anything for my wife's sister."

Oh great, so I'm Janet's sister. How can this day get any weirder?

Steve suddenly got sick of the hair tie, so he released the bun, and champagne colored tresses started pouring
down his shoulders. It almost looked like something out of one of those shampoo commercials.

Megan suddenly came down the stairs.

"Oh hey mom. I'm going to go to Ashley's for a while. Is that OK?"

"Sure, honey. Do you want a ride?"

"I can walk."

"OK. Be safe. What do you say, Megan?", Janet's eyes pointing all around the room.

"Hi Uncle Gene. Hi Aunt Stephanie."

Stephanie sighed at the awkwardness of the situation, nervously combing her hands through her hair. Megan
noticed the tension. Aunt Stephanie was always her favorite relative.

"What's wrong, Aunt?"
