“What is with all the yelling, girls?” Nora, Lindsey’s mother, inquired as she walked up the stairs. Stepping
into the attic, Isis and Lindsey stared in horror. However, Nora did not react to their fattened physiques.
“Maybe she thinks we’ve always been fat, like you thought I’ve always been a girl,” Isis whispered. The thought
horrified Lindsey but it made sense. She had to test it.
“Mom,” she began. “Do you think I’ve put on weight?”
Nora’s stern expression softened. “Of course not, dear. You look fine.”
“Would like to play with us?” Isis blurted, not controlling her own voice. It was as if the board game were
recruiting players. Lindsey glared at her heavy friend.
