Think you know your fellow players? Not anymore. Change relationships with all the players.
"Change relationships. What does that mean?" Isis asked.
Lindsey scrunched her head in confusion. "I don't know, we aren't related, maybe it doesn't do anything?"
But as soon as Lindsey said that, both girls felt a quick wooziness. They both closed their eyes and put their
hands to their heads as new memories seemed to flood their minds. They still remembered life as it had been,
but somehow there was a new set of memories overlaid on top of them now, as if they had been two different
people at the same time.
"Oooohhhh..." Lindsey moaned. She shook her head to clear the cobwebs.
"I guess that's what it means," Isis said. "I assume from you have these new memories too?"
Lindsey just nodded as she accessed her new memories. Instead of being the 18 year old girl Lindsey
remembered, in her new memories, she was truly only 12.
"And we're not high school friends anymore. Now I'm you're babysitter!" Isis said. Her memories had changed
too. She still remembered being Isaac and coming over to his friend Lindsey's house to play a game. But he
also had a new set of memories, these where he'd always been a girl and old enough that she was Lindsey's
babysitter. Isis gasped. She was terrified now, if the game was powerful enough to create new memories, was
there a chance she might lose her memories of being a boy!? The scariest part of that was now there was a part
of Isis who thought that was okay, because she had the memories that convinced her she never was a boy to
start with.
"This is so weird Isis! I remember us being friends in school, but now I have all these memories of you taking
care of me while Leslie and mom were out of the house, and part of me feels like I'm supposed to be this old!"
"I know, it's scary how powerful this game is. But I don't know what to do. If we just quit right now, will we
be stuck this way? But who knows what might happen next if we keep playing?" Isis asked.
"I know, but I don't like where we are now. Let's keep playing, okay?" Despite herself, Lindsey found herself
needing Isis' approval. That second set of memories was affecting them both.
"Look Lindsey, I'm the adult here. I'll decide if we keep playing or not."
What did Isis decide?
