As I opened the book, the question of how long I’d be like this popped into my head. Erin had said she’d be my
only master; and either free me or pass me down through her family when the time came. With that in mind, I
wondered how long I’d be like this before I was free again.
Unfortunately, the book couldn’t answer that question; which I guessed was because it depended on whom your
master was. Having answered that question, I decided to see why I had to be imprinted with the lamp. Reading the
book I saw that if I hadn’t been imprinted within 12 hours of becoming a genie, I’d simply disappear.
I spent the next hour or so reading the book; learning what it meant to be a genie. Apparently, the whole idea
of rubbing the lamp and getting three wishes was a myth. I also learned that I must grant all of Erin’s wishes;
but that I can grant them in any way possible so long as the wish is granted.
I couldn’t help but smile at that; thinking of ways to prank Erin. I was about to continue reading the book when
I felt a familiar sensation, as I was pulled out of the lamp.
I soon found myself back in the hotel room; surprised to find Jamila standing in front of me.
