“Okay.” Pausing, I said, “Where should we start?”
“Carly, I don’t know how to put this.” Taking a deep breath, Erin looked at me and said, “W-we don’t how far
you can be from the lamp, and I’m not sure they’d allow us to carry it on.”
It didn’t take long for me to realize what she was getting at. “You’re thinking I should be in the lamp during
the flight?”
“It’s the easiest way. Besides,” looking at me, Erin said, “It’ll be more comfortable than 9 hours in a
cramped plane.”
That idea made a lot of sense. Since the lamp was now my home, I had everything I’d need inside it. “Okay,
that’s a good idea.”
“I’ll let you out as soon as we’re home.” Looking at me, Erin said, “Then we’ll have some fun; just the two of
us.”
The next couple of hours passed by uneventfully; with Erin and me packing our things for the flight home.
After coming out of the lamp, having placed my luggage inside, I turned to Erin and said, “Okay, now what?”
Placing my lamp in her suitcase, Erin said, “All that’s left is for us to check out.”
Hugging Erin, I said, “I’ll see you in 9 hours.”
Hugging me, Erin said, “Stay safe.”
With that said, I smiled and returned myself to the lamp.
It wasn't long before we arrived at the airport and Erin’s suitcase, with my lamp inside, was loaded into the
luggage compartment. I was surprised that I didn't notice anything from outside; no turbulence or anything.
Since I’d heard Erin so clearly before, I was surprised to realize that.
Then again, Erin was my master; so it made sense that I’d be able to hear her call for me.
The TV inside the lamp was like the best On Demand Package imaginable; all I had to do was think of something
and it appeared on the screen. As I sat back to watch Captain America, I thought about how my life had
changed.
My parents, according to Erin, believed that I’d always been a girl. That was going to take some getting used
to. “So I'm a girl named Carly and they'll expect me to act appropriately.”
It was a good thing I had Erin; she’d be able to help me adjust. I just wondered if I’d adjust before or after
we found a way out of this.
