Fearing the answer, Mike said, “W-What?”
Grinning, Erin said, “I want you to go on a date.”
Knowing that the date would be with a guy, Mike said, “No way, you can't make me! T-that’s gross!"
“Why not, Michelle?” pausing, Erin said, “You’re an attractive, young woman.”
“Don’t say that!!”
Despite Mike’s protests, I knew Erin was right. Although her clothes hadn’t changed and her shoulder length
red hair was a mess, Mike looked stunning. The whole date thing was probably Erin’s way of dressing her up.
Looking at Erin, I said, “Who did you have in mind?"
Grinning, Erin said “Alan Ackerman.”
To Mike’s surprise, I grabbed Erin and pulled her into the hallway. Once we were alone, thankful that our
parents were out, I said, “Not a chance! I’m not going to have my old brother dating my new brother turned
sister!” pausing, I said, “How would Alan feel if he discovers that the pretty redhead doesn’t really exist!?”
Confidently, Erin said, “He’s not going to find out.”
Looking at her, I said, “Yeah right.”
“Trust me, sis.” Pausing, Erin said, “I don’t want them to be hurt either.”
“Okay, fine.”
While it’ll be nice to see Michelle squirm; Alan will benefit as well.” Pausing, Erin looked at me and said,
“He could use this, especially after his breakup. All he’ll see is just another girl."
Looking at Erin, realizing she was fixed on the whole idea, I said, “Don't blame the genie when this blows up
in your face."
Hugging me, Erin said, “Thanks, sis.”
