Abner and Louise ran for the dig's even as they held the calls from the Professor to stop.
"Come Louise I have a plan!" beconed Abner as they ran.
Suddenly Abner fell and Louise toppled onto him and they rolled to a stop. The light from the moon that night was quite bright as Abner was first to see what he'd stumbled over.
There half coiled up into a knot was a South American Python. It's large flat head came up to be nose to nose with Abner as it's tongue zapped out to taste it's prey.
"Oh God I'm going to be eaten by a snake!" said Abner as Louise seemed in a trance, eyes wide and in a cold stare at the huge snake.
The snake watched it's prey as Abner's left hand reached for the Medallion. "By the power of this Medallion I command you snake to be a woman!" said Abner.
Nothing happened! Abner's face was dripping of sweat, shaking in his fear he again tightened his fingers on the Medallion. "I don't want to be this snakes dinner, I command this Medallion to make me as strong and stronger than this snake!"
Nothing happened, as Abner reached a hand to touch Louise. A gesture of love before being crushed to death and swallowed whole. Unable to break away from looking at the eyes of the Python and as the two held hands Louise offered her wish. That very second the Python's tongue touched Abner's nose.
"A..Abner, I wish we'd stayed in camp! I wish we were like John, big and strong, fast and quick as horses to dash away from here!
The Medallion began to glow, Abner looked to Louise as she to him and the Python jerked backwards.
Abner smiled as the sight of a snake with horse ears weaved about in the air. "Louise your wish hit the snake, It's changing into a horse!" said Abner as then Louise said, "Abner your ears just changed too!"
In the camp the Professor and Frank listened to what sounded at first as screaming then turned to laughing. The wonder of Abner and Louise as they were no doubt enjoying some beastly change at that very moment.
The sounds of enjoyment changed as if they were not enjoying the outcome of their wish to join the fauna walking there about. Sounds of fear, anger, a fight of beast against beast was making the bird fly from their roosting.
Then it was quiet except for the distant pounding of hooves over the gound.
"Frank come morning I'll radio the base station and have the porters return to help us down the mountain." suggested the Professor.
"What of John, Jenny, Simon and the others?" asked Frank almost with a cry.
A sigh, "John and Jenny are as they wished to be and shall be awarded to the manager at base camp. As for your mad fucking three goats, well there are many goat farms about where they can find happiness in doing what comes natural. Oh and who knows of Abner and Louise, no doubt they found their heavenly place to play and make love." said the Professor. "Come morning I'll tell them they were all lost in a landslide at the dig. You take ten sticks of dynamite and make it look as bad as you can!" Frank gave an OK sign with his hand as he walked toward his tent and a strange night's sleep.
Meanwhile along mountain trails two dun colored draft horses ran for their lives as an angered ex-Python now draft horse ran behind chomping at their butts.
