"I wish I lived in a five bedroom house with a big-ass pool, brick privacy walls, and a security gate," I
said.
"Me too," Meagan replied, though she seemed a bit puzzled by my apparent nonsequitur.
"Oh wait," I said, suddenly very satisfied, "I totally do." My brain began to fill in the blanks, informing me
that indeed I DID have such a house, and that it was just a couple blocks away.
Veronica gave me a knowing smirk and a soft elbow in the ribs. "Don't you mean that we do, dearest?"
"Absolutely," I said.
Meagan was giving us both a confused look, but said nothing. "So.." she asked, sniffing the air intently, "is
it ALWAYS like this? I can smell EVERYTHING..and not just everything that is, but even stuff that WAS.
Like..someone was eating a corndog here...and.." she suddenly broke away from us, sniffing.."HOLY SHIT, HERE'S
THE STICK IT WAS ON!" she declared proudly, pointing at the ground where indeed, there was a corndog stick.
She immediately blushed. "I just realized I got excited about sniffing trash.."
Veronica gathered her up, and put one arm around her waist, then gave her a kiss on the cheek. "It's okay,
sweetie, you're new at this." She had that same almost motherly gaze on her face that she'd had earlier. We
continued to walk down the road, heading for the house. "You'll get used to it, and eventually you'll take it
for granted, until something fucks up your sense of smell, like overly strong perfume or smoke."
"This is so weird.." Meagan mused. "I mean..I feel weak now..like MAJORLY weak..so small, but..I feel sexy and
powerful all at the same time."
"That's because you ARE," Veronica said. "Isn't she, dear?"
"Entirely," I replied. I nuzzled Veronica's neck lightly and inhaled, then switched sides so that Meagan was
in between us. I nuzzled her as well and inhaled her scent as well. "Both of you smell..fucking incredible.."
I couldn't lie; while I probably wouldn't normally have given Meagan a second glance compared to Veronica, now
that she was a werewolf, there was an attraction factor.
Meagan blushed again, slightly embarrassed. "Awwww..."
We got to the front gate, and I punched in the code automatically, since my earlier wish had apparently filled
in the necessary blanks. (Thankfully.)
"Holy shit," Meagan said as the house came into clear view. "You weren't kidding!"
It wasn't a mansion, but it was clearly a million-dollar home, and very much to my architectural tastes even
though I hadn't necessarily mentioned specifics. The house itself was lit up inside, presumably automatic
lights for security purposes, and black leather couches could be seen in the front sitting room windows.
I fished out the housekey from my pocket, and we went into the nicely cooled house. While the outside
temperature was still pushing 80 after sunset, the house was a very pleasant 72 degrees. My theory that my
brain had filled in the blanks to my tastes was confirmed by the massive flatscreen television and library of
video games and gaming consoles that formed the focal point of attention for the room.
"Boys and their toys," Veronica mused, sticking her tongue playfully out at me.
"Hey, all pack and no play makes Joe a dull boy, as they say," I retorted.
Veronica slinked around, still clad in the black robe she'd worn at the club. How we never got noticed is
beyond me. Granted, I'm sure I could have wished us out of trouble if things had really gotten hairy (ha-ha)
but I was starting to wonder if there was a backlash for too many or too frequent wishes.
"I have a few ideas that I'm sure could take your mind off of videogames, Joe.." she said breathily. Even if
I'd somehow been oblivious to her hint, the look in her eyes said it all.
"Umm.." Meagan said with a mildly discomforted look on her face, "Should I..like..go..?"
"On the contrary, dear," Veronica said, "I very much want you to stay.." Veronica slipped behind her and
nipped her earlobe as she wrapped her arms around Meagan. Meagan responded with a shiver and leaned back into
Veronica's embrace.
"I..I..umm..I can stay.." Meagan said, her voice barely a whisper.
"Good," Veronica said, pulling away again and walking toward the kitchen. "I'll mix us some drinks, then."
