Whatever part of Frank and his personality that remained alive deep in the dark corner of the New Amazon Pan, began to stir. His feelings of morality had given him the kick needed to try and take command over his life and what was left of his body.
The Professor stood stunned and frozen awaiting the fate to which the Amazon Pan would place upon him. Just as Pan's hairy hand reached out to touch and grant the coming changes, he stopped. Closing his yellow eyes he shook his head as Frank's mentality stirred.
The attention to the Professor was broken and with it the trance which held him under Pan's spell. Eyes still closed as the battle raged for ultimate control of mind and Pan's body the Amazon God's mouth uttered a few strained words.
"PPPRoffessor, take the Medallion!" said Pan but with Frank's tone of voice.
Not a second too soon as Pan's eyes reopened the Professor yanked the Medallion from off Pan's neck. A sneering look of hate came onto Pan's face, as if he might have made the man into something worse than another play toy.
A quick look about the Professor remembered that fire was a cleansing of all evil and spells of evil. A quick toss and life a Frisbee the Medallion sailed through the air to land neat and center the campfire.
As the flame leaped about, around, and over the Medallion a blood curdling scream came for within the fire. The flames changed from orange to bright blue as the Medallion received the heat.
"He who removes me from the fire gets five wishes of anything his heart desires!" screamed the voice from the blue flames.
The Professor looked about and saw the nanny goats now frozen to their places. Even Pan stood motionless and looking baffled by the happenings at that moment. It was then the man made a decision, in a twisting move he took the grip which lifted the cook pot of beans from the fire and grabbed the Medallion.
"The Spirits offer you the blessing of five wishes, anything your heart desires will come true and last forever!" offered the Spirit.
At first a grin of bold intent came over the face of the now powerful Professor. Then as he looked about the sight of lost men and lost youths all made of animal, each having lost what they achieved in life made him feel remorse.
"My first wish is....................
