"...that you'd become an Ant Woman hybrid." James finished, chuckling.
From her vantage point on the table below, Ant Cathy suddenly shuddered and began to change once more. Squeaking in alarm, clacking her mouth parts, her exeskeletal body crackled as her back half began to grow bigger. Her four back legs got longer, stronger, to support a more upright stance, as her top half snapped itself into a more upright stance. Her neck lengthened, allowing her to flex her head around to see her lower body, and her strange multi-celled vision witnessed her strange ant-centaur shape develop. Suddenly, she felt fingers again, and looked down at her very front legs to find they were no longer legs at all but more humanoid arms. Her palms had grown and five long flexible fingers had emerged, just as armored and encased in glossy ant flesh as the rest of her. She blinked as her top half assumed a more female shape, two nipples rising as points from her chest armor, followed by two spherical hardened breasts. She flexed her antennae and felt strong. Marvelously strong, as she felt the strands and fibres of flesh beneath her hardened exterior strengthen rapidly, adding some definition to her exeskeletal plating.
Not really displeased with her new form, Cathy paused for a moment to admire the dark brown sheen of her hardened body, her voluptuously rounded insect abdomen, and her strong limbs. Her breasts, perhaps bigger than she remembered them, were round and perfect, and her plating had a delightful reflective gloss. And then she began to smell... chemical smells. Weird and new senses. She raised her arms and gently rubbed over her hips, which turned into the swell of her butt behind her, and if she could have smiled, she would have. She did make a damn sexy ant woman.
Experimentally, she tried to speak, but only elicited a raspy click. Hmmm. She hadn't grown much at all, either. She was still bug sized before her giant newphew. But at least she wasn't an icky limbless slug.
She looked up expectantly, putting her hands on her hips in a "now what" pose.
James grinned. "You like this a little better, don't you?"
The Cathy ant nodded gently.
"Kind of cool?"
Cathy shrugged, nodded. Yeah, it was better than the slug thing.
"Well!" James rubbed his hands together. "Then you'll love this..."
