Anton sped down the highway reviewing Mac’s plan. It was actually fairly simple when eh thought about it. Simply put the Company could contain things for a time but eventually their resources would be stretched thin. However, that would not happen for a while. If they wanted to save many lives, create their coalition, and make things difficult they needed another hot zone.
Or in layman’s terms, they needed to have another outbreak. Therefore, Anton was given five vials of pure virus. They were safely stowed away and now Anton would take the virus to a population center in the direct opposite direction of the first outbreak. Thanks to Mac’s knowledge of the watch movements in the event of such an outbreak, and the difficulty of changing such thins even if a traitor was found, Anton had a way to avoid any watch groups and get outside their perimeter.
He sped along the roads and drove down switchbacks, he took small off road points, and even went down a trail at one point, but soon he had crossed outside of the perimeter he was home free. He let loose the engine and drove quickly he knew where to go Odessa City was close by but it was north of the infection point meaning the virus wouldn’t go there. It also meant it was not being heavily watched.
The best part of Odessa was the zoo though. Odessa had one of the best zoos in the nation filled with wild and exotic animals form around the globe and even a few from the woods. Anton had worked there at one time when they needed an extra hand or twelve and he had a good friend he talked to often enough that he knew of any changes made to the place. He had near perfect knowledge of the place and he knew thanks to his friend that tomorrow tow very large conventions would be using the zoo to meet. It was perfect for an outbreak.
He sped down the road and was soon upon the zoo. It was thankfully on the outskirts of the city thanks to the fact that it was a very new zoo for a fast growing city. Hmm-fast growing cities meant it had a lot of travel in and out, which meant further outbreaks eventually.
Whatever the case was Anton parked the bike and using his new talents as a squirrel man easily climbed over the wall and got into the zoo. He chattered happily at his own cunning. Mac wanted an outbreak and eh would give it to him, big time. He quickly ran down the small walkways and paths past cages and enclosures. Anton knew exactly what he needed to do now. He had only five vials and he ha dot make them count so he couldn’t go just exposing one type of animal over the other. Fortunately this particular zoo used a very unique system of water conservation the entire thing was hooked up in one central spot and so if he got the virus into that then the virus would go to every cage, enclosure, and space in the zoo infecting every animal it came across.
Despite a narrow escape with a night watchman and a janitor, which eh had avoided by scampering up a close by tree, Anton reached the pump easily. Unfortunate the door was locked. Anton looked around and then eh saw it an air duct. It was a cliché but it would work. Especially considering his body was a lot more supple now. Checking to make sure he had the vials safely stowed in a make shift pocket Anton climbed the wall and using a small claw unscrewed the air duct grate he then climbed through. A minuet later, he was in the pump room looking at a massive pool of water to be filtered.
Well here, it was the decisive moment: would he help to begin a contagion that could very well spread across the globe and do unknown levels of damage or would he leave well enough alone and do nothing. Anton only thought for a moment and then….
