Nate carefully wandered around the museum. He thought about how easy it would be to steal something but decided not to risk it yet. He
needed to know more about his temporary transformation into a statue first. If he turned into a statue in the middle of a robbery, he'd be easily
caught.
Nate found his clothes easily enough in lost and found near the front counter. Finding his way out of the museum without setting off the alarm
took all night though. He finally made it home and saw that the time was 4:00 a.m.
Nate turned on the Chronivac and started reading all the instructions. He read, "Warning: Until the Chronivac completes its duration, attempts
to reset it may cause glitches. You may make minor changes such as to your height but attempting to undo a transformation or change the
nature of a transformation can cause a malfunction."
So Nate was stuck turning into stone by day. He checked the duration and it was set for three years. For the next three years Nate would turn
into stone.
Nate studied a little further and figured out that because he had chosen the job option, that he wouldn't turn into stone every day. He would
turn into stone only in time to be a statue at the museum but if the museum was closed, he'd be flesh again. Nate looked online at the
museum's schedule and saw that the museum did close for installation changes and one of these closures was coming up in a few days. On
average, this meant the museum was closed for about seven days a month but these seven days bunched up so that it would be an average of
about twelve days as a statue followed by an average of about three to four days human.
Nate finally saw an image of what he looked like as a statue and groaned. Although he looked like he was made of stone, the color was almost
flesh-like and the detail was so perfect that it almost looked like Nate was simply posing naked. As a statue, his penis was practically flying out
in front of him until it almost looked erect.
Nate thought, I don't want to be a statue and be on display. I don't want to have people see every detail of my body but I don't have much of a
choice. At least I might be able to negotiate something with the museum in a few days. At least then I can make some money. Or maybe I can
set a different schedule and be human a little more or get sent to a different museum where my friends won't discover me.
Nate looked at the clock and realized he was running out of time. The museum would open soon and he'd be a statue again. He thought about
just hiding out at home while being a statue but realized that his best option was at the museum. At home, he'd be bored and alone, he'd be
more likely to be discovered by his parents or friends, he'd have a hard time explaining why he was hiding so much, and he wouldn't get any
money from hiding. At least if he got paid as a statue, he could lie to his friends and tell them he had a job. Besides, he felt the urges that the
Chronivac put into him that would force him back to the museum if he didn't go willingly. So dreading another day on display, Nate went back
to the museum.
He remembered the security well enough that he was quickly able to get back inside and stash his clothes in the lost and found. However, he
ran out of time before he could get back to his spot from the day before. While still in the main entrance, out in the middle where everyone
would see him, he became "The Dancer" statue just like before. Not only could people in the museum see him but the big glass windows and
doors made him visible to anyone outside.
When the managers arrived, they discussed how the statue was moved during the night and they were obsessed with solving the mystery.
However, another problem arrived. A group of concerned citizens came to the museum protesting the obscene display of a statue of a naked
man. One of the more extreme protesters shouted, "Either clothe him or cut his member off."
