Paul's legs start to hurt, so he sits down, careful not to sit on his tail. He
swishes his tail a bit in the hay, feeling the odd sensations with wonder. "How
did this happen?"
Gradually he notices why his legs were hurting. His thighs are shrinking! Not
only that, but his feet are growing longer. The bones are bunching together,
too, making his feet thinner. His big toe shrinks and climbs toward his ankle.
All of his toes start getting thicker on the bottom, and the toenails turn into
claws! It doesn't take Paul long to notice that he now has perfect (altho
hairless) dog legs.
Heart pounding, Paul tries to stand. Standing the normal way, he gets an
enormous pain in his ankles. Finally he settles into a more dog-like position,
which feels like tip-toes.
Mouth wide open, still sensing his new tail and floppy ears hanging from his
body, Paul stares at his legs. He picks one of his feet off the floor and nearly
tumbles, watching the leg sort of bend backwards, as it were. Barely retaining
his balance, he slaps it back down into the hay a few inches back. Looking into
the hay and dust in the floor, he sees a perfect pawprint where his foot just
was! He takes a few steps forward and looks back, admiring his own bipedal
pawprints. It looks almost like a real dog left them. Paul starts to feel
slightly better about his changes and feels his long, canine tail swinging back
& forth.
