"why have you been watching me?"
"because you're special. You're quick, agile, intelligent, and we need people like you," the woman responded, lying through her pointed teeth. She and her friends did note some desirable qualities in Cera, but that was not why they sought to recruit her. Instead, Cera was sought because she was alone thus, vulnerable after her daughter and fiance had disappeared.
Cera stared at the odd woman with a blank and dull expression.
"In exchange for your cooperation, I'll reunite you with your family."
"what the fuck is this all about?!" Cera was beginning to yell. "I swear to God if you do not get the Hell out of my apartment, I will blast a cap in your damned a- . . ."
Cera was suddenly cut off, unable to speak even though she attempted to do so desperately. The room turned dark, her door slammed shut, and the woman's eyes began to glow. She spoke with a deep voice.'
"The world is going to change Cera. We know you hate this life of your's, and we can help you change not only your life, but the world as well. No one will be unhappy. We're magical beings Cera. And we're going to use our mystical nature to shape this world into our own vision! None shall be left behind and forgotten."
The woman returned Cera's ability to speak to her, returned her own voice to what it sounded like prior, and returned the lighting in the room to what it was beforehand.
"What is this vision of your's," Cera asked, curiously, beginning to believe the woman's cause, even though she didn't know what was going on, let alone what the nature of the woman's cause.
"Everyone will be like us. The sick, the poor, the rich, the healthy, and whatnot. Ever- . . ."
"What do you mean, 'Like us,'?"
"Let me show you Cera. Allow me to show you who we are," the woman said with a toothed grin.
