Mark doubled over as the changes wracked his body. Dark red fur began to spread across most of him, while white fur spread across the front of his torso and black grew on his hands and feet.
"Oh no oh no oh no..." he muttered. Suddenly, he fell flat on his back as his feet suddenly warped to a more fox-like shape, while his face extended into a proper fox muzzle and his ears migrated to the top of his head and became pointed. After a minute, the changes were finished, and Mark stood up.
"Wow... This is real, isn't it?" He swished his new tail and looked at his now fur-covered arms. "This is... well... actually, it's kind of cool. I mean, for me, anyway, I don't know about you, Kyle." He shifted awkwardly. Kyle shook her head and passed her hand over her face a few times. This was unbelievable. Fortunately, Jen was kind of a moron, since she tried to give another dare at the end of explaining the transformations. That one didn't apply. She looked at Tim, who in turn looked seriously nervous. She suddenly had an idea - sure, they could change each other back easily enough, but there was actually some potential in this situation.
"Well... you want to change?" Kyle was still surprised every time she spoke. Tim did a double-take.
"Uh, I, no, um, well, did you... do you want me to, Kyle?" he stammered. Obviously, he had hopelessly fallen for the raccoon-girl that his best friend had become. Kyle smiled.
"Well, Mark's gonna have to handle this one, since he has the 'curse,' but I trust him. I think this will make it work out quite well for all of us, and Mark and I won't even have to change" she said cryptically, still smiling. Tim once again did a double-take.
"You mean you're gonna STAY this way?!" he exclaimed, perhaps a little too eagerly. Kyle just winked at him and leaned towards Mark, who was already beginning to enjoy his new - certainly more handsome and fit - form. She leaned in close and whispered into his ear, and a grin spread across his fox face. He nodded at Tim.
"Okay, here's the deal. Kyle's thinking she wants to give this new form a try, and maybe stay that way. I know I LIKE what I've become, so I definitely want to stay. Problem: we're the first of our respective species, but also the last. Not a good outcome. However, Kyle - or Kylie, that's the name she's given herself - has figured out a solution. It doesn't need to be permanent if none of us like it, of course, but you need to take both. So, Tim, transform or dare?"
Tim briefly froze as dozens of possible outcomes ran through his mind, then decided he had no real option. "Both!" he exclaimed. Mark smiled, and started...
