The fairy clenches her right fist, which begins to glow. She then opens it up to reveal a small mound of fairy dust, which she blows at you.
“Oh, no, what now?” you think to yourself expecting yet another change, but instead of hitting you, the dust surrounds you in a glittering translucent sphere of gold tethered to the fairy’s hand by what can only be described as a rope of light. The fairy takes off, carrying you with her; through the woods past trees and over pathways until you reach what appears to be a flowery meadow. Most of the flowers you recognized from real life or pictures, others you didn’t but which seemed normal enough, but then there were a few which seemed to give off an otherworldly glow, most of which had their buds closed.
“Oh, look at this.” The fairy said, gesturing at you to look at one flower with two fairies hovering close by. The bud was stirring and it slowly opened. A small child with wings was inside. “Ah, the miracle of life.” The fairy said before hauling you off to another part of the meadow.
“Was that…” you hesitantly ask.
”How fairies are born? Partly, the seeds to those flowers do have to come from somewhere, but that’s not the only way to make a fairy. Ah, we’re here!” She said as she stopped at a completely different kind of flower.
Wrapping the tether around her wrist, she cupped her hands together and produced a larger mound of dust, blowing it at the flower causing it to glow faintly. You’re almost afraid to ask, but curiosity gets the better of you. “And the other ways?” She swings you above the blossom and dispels the glowing bubble, dropping you onto the blossom. You stand up but the scent of the flower seems to be having a relaxing effect on you.
“Well, if a fairy is like a butterfly, then you could be like a caterpillar, and this flower is your chrysalis.”
”What!” The flower had already closed around your feet restraining you. The petals wrap around your body, cocooning you within its fragrant bud. “Please… don’t…” The panic you feel doesn’t subside, even as your body loosens its tension.
“I told you, I’m giving you what you deserve, and what you deserve, is to be reborn as a fairy.”
The flower bud closes firmly around your body.
