There has been lots of speculation as to what the next evolutionary quantum will be for the Human Race. The
song In The Year 2525 details a few of those options. Creatures with large domed heads, and frail bodies? Energy beings? Morlocks and Eloi? What did
the makers of the Chronivac have in mind when they put the option on the program that Phillip now chose?
"Cool, Evolutionary Humanity. I can pick Homo Erectus, Neanderthal, Early Cromagnong, and here's an option for
the future. Isaiah thinks he is more evolved than the rest of us," chuckled Phillip as his fingers hovered
over the keyboard. He could make himself 100 million years more evolved than Isaiah, or maybe only a couple
million? Or he could turn his roomie(s) into cavemen? Maybe he would do both? Heck, why stop at Caveman?
Isaiah was quiet and bit on the hairy side, and from profile he looked a bit like a rodent. Then, Phillip
remembered the old empty rat cage that they had found in the closet, they assumed it had been left by a
previous resident. Isaiah disappeared every day on a morning run, but if he had a wheel to run in? Phillip
grinned. Too bad, Isaiah wasn't here.
Now Phillip's thoughts turned to Matt, and then to the three young men in the room next door. He adjusted the
Chronivac settings, and two subjects popped up from on the other side of the wall. Should he test it on them,
before trying it on himself? Maybe he should wait for Isaiah or Matt to come home? If he was more highly
evolved, he would easily beat Matt at their regular chess game? He really didn't want to wait.
