Two months later...
Militia-Lieutenant Jordan Becker nodded to his militia guards as he passed the security checkpoint and entered the governor's palace.
The governor's palace was the former city hall, but now serves a new purposes as the regional government headquarter. In the halls of the palace
Jordan mostly passed human servants doing errands, sometimes overseen by a felinarian. A few times he also passed a loyalist like himself. A
loyalist was a human who supported the felinarian government actively and turned against his own race.
Jordan was one of the first who took his chance after the invasion by informing the felinarians about rioter and rebells in his neighborhood.
Choosing power over pride and honor was a simple choice for him being a twenty years old college dropout without perspective. Now he was the
leader of the Dawsonville militia company, a military group of loyalists and humans to support the felinarian military forces and guarding the
conquered cities. As a sign of their loyalty all loyalists get catlike features, a tail, cat ears, claws and so own... a standard pattern provided by the
chronivac units of the felinarians.
On his way to his meeting Jordan thought about how the world changed this last two months. Most of the world was conquered in one day as the
worldwide coordinated transformation of the felinarians hit. Now thirty percent of the world population were turned into brutes who worked in
the factories and mining facilities which were constructed all over the world around the conquered cities. The remaining humans who had their
thought of resistance reduced by the chronivac were now forced to serve the felinarians as servants, administration staff or technicians. Or they
were forced to join the military auxiliary platoons to strengthen the felinarian intergalactic army. Also there were still some rebells and rioter out
there. People who were out of range when the chronivac change hit or some individuals who were strong enough to overcome the mental change.
Almost two-thirds of africa were still resisting due to the lack of infrastructure during the invasion and the felinarian army was still fighting a
bloody war against well-armed rebells due to the massive concentration of warlords in this region. Also all over the world rebel groups were
fighting in the backwoods our trying to infiltrate cities and sabotage felinarian facilities and the militia companies and the auxiliary platoons were
doing there best to stop and catch these rebells. The punishment for rioting were different but mostly ended in the transformation into a a brute
or a common cat, depending on the felinarian governor. But sometimes a felinarian became quite imaginative and came up with a more exotic
punishment.
Jordan passed the last checkpoint and gave the loyalist guard his pistol, before he entered the governor's office.
"Governor Purrfect, Militia-Lieutenant Jordan Becker of the Dawsonville militia company.", Jordan was announced by human servant.
"Ah, Militia-Lieutenant. I am eager to hear your report.", said Governor Szythalimew Purrfect, former captian of the felinarian army, now governor
of Dawsonville, as he stood up from his desk and walked to the large window at the side of his office.
"I am proud to tell you that we reduced the acts against the government by 70 percent and arrested five rebells who we assume were part of the
infamous 'Human Revolutionary Army'.", answered Jordan Becker without a sign of regret.
The meeting went while Lieutenant Becker gave his report and they discussed the next orders for the militia troopers. All the time Jordan was
observing the personal pet-servant of the governor, a girl called Tammy, who was playing with a ball of yarn next to the governor's desk. It was
said that she was one of the first who got the new 'loyalist' pattern, but with a few mental extra modifications instructed by her master. Becker
was fascinated by her since he saw her for the first time and he hoped that if his new career went as smooth as up until now then perhaps the
governor will allow him to get to know Tammy a bit 'better'....
