It was Chris's day off. He didn't have classes, and he didn't have a shift at the grocery store. Which was... a
rarity, and in lieu of knowing what to do with free time, he'd been wandering the streets aimlessly.
Soon, he came across a dusty old shop he was certain he'd never seen before. Walking in, he looked around at all
the dusty shelves, lined with old books and yellowing board game boxes. He was reaching into one of the racks to
examine a book more closely when from behind him, he heard an elderly man's voice say, "Can I help you, sir?"
Chris spun, shocked. The old man was bald and weathered, with a long white beard... and were they robes? "Uh...
no. I'm just browsing. Kinda bored," he shrugged.
"Ah!" said the man. "I have just the thing." He shuffled off to behind the counter. "I have this board game," he
said, pulling out a plain wooden box. "Very good, but nobody is interested in buying it. For you, a couple of
bucks. I want rid of it."
Chris reached into his pockets. Hey, why not? His workmates were coming over tonight, and it'd be better than
the usual TV and pizza. "Thanks. I hope I'll enjoy it."
As he was walking out of the store, box under his arm, he could hear the old man say softly, "Oh... I BET you
will." Weird.
