...a 10 foot cube? What the hell did that mean?
Jeff felt himself tingling as his body hurled across the frozen landscape. His skin started to become
transparent and sticky, losing definition and it seemed to dissolve.
He hurled though the great iron gate at the mountain like it was a hologram, plunging though the rock and into
a dark chamber somewhere. He finally stopped, but when he tried to walk he found that his legs had lost any
semblence of being legs. Instead, he dissolved into a stiff pile. One by one his senses stopped working,
starting with sight, then sound, then smell and finally all he had was a vague sense of self.
Jeff could feel the walls of the cave and his thick, gooey form slid silently, slowly, across the cavern floor.
Once in a while there was a slight sensation as he absorbed some unfortunate cave creature, a rat here, a
spider there. A few days after appearing there, he felt a bigger than normal sensation. He didn't know it,
nor would he ever, but he had absorbed a stray orc that had been exploring the cavern. The body would slowly
digest, suspended inside Jeff like an insect in amber until even the bones vanished, and the bits of metal
dropped away onto the cave floor.
Jeff mentally screamed inside. Since he was 50% aware, he knew that this creature was basically a cave
dwelling jellyfish, with no thoughts or desires. It simply would go back and forth across the cave eating. He
would spend the next year like this.
