I was on vacation. Some friends and I were staying in a cabin. I don't know why but I woke up very early and had the urge to go for a walk
before the sun rose. Just before sunrise, there is enough light to see by even though the woods are full of shadows.
I happened to see a glint of metal in the ravine so I walked closer to investigate. It looked like a discarded beer can and I was mad. Why do
people come all this way to the middle of nowhere just to get drunk and litter. I went to pick up the can to put it in a trash bag.
But when I moved the can, I discovered that there was more metal underneath. The can wasn't a can at all and I couldn't tell what it was but
there were hundreds of metal pieces like it buried there. As I dug further, I found fragments of other things: glass, plastic, rubber, wire, and
then there were things I didn't recognize.
I was so focused on my discovery, I didn't feel the vibration until the land caved in beneath me and everything I had unburied became buried
again along with me. I wasn't hurt more than a few scratches and maybe a bruise or two. I found myself in a cave. The opening had caved in
and I couldn't get out that way so I decided to explore the cave looking for another exit.
The deeper in the cave I explored, the more weird fragments I saw. Several of the fragments were larger than me. Some looked like things I was
familiar with such as a gun and a metal detector. But most of it was unlike anything I had ever seen before.
Then I saw a large space ship and the setting made sense. This had been where an alien spaceship had crashed. Some government agency
must have already picked through it but then buried it all. I wondered why they didn't take the ship with them but then seeing how badly
damaged the ship was, I figured they probably didn't see it as worth anything. Either that or something prevented them from moving the ship.
Whatever the reason was, I could not understand why they abandoned it. It was as if something caused them to forget that anything was here.
I felt sure that I'd be able to get out of the cave because the air was fresh and I wasn't having any trouble breathing. So I decided to check out
the ship but carefully so I didn't trigger any alien technology.
I found a large collection of round discs. All of them were flat and blue but that was all they had in common. There were all sizes of discs: some
smaller than a coin and some larger than my head . Most of them were circular but there were ovals, heart shapes, rings, and triangles. Most of
them had some form of framing around the edge and although each had one completely smooth side, each had a side with bumps of various
patterns.
I picked one up. It was beautiful and as I held it, I think I triggered something because lines appeared on the smooth side. These lines looked
like little lightning bolts moving across the surface. I slowly moved my finger in to feel it. It felt good. It gave me goosebumps and it didn't
seem to be causing any harm so I decided to touch the smooth surface.
That's when my finger disappeared. I never felt a surface. I only felt a tingle as my finger passed through the surface but where was my finger
now? I wiggled it and saw movement in the pile of discs. I used my other hand to reach in and found my finger sticking out the smooth side of
an identical disc. Then I realized that all these discs came in identical pairs. Whatever went in one would come out of the other like a teleporter.
This was their form of transportation. They had to have millions of discs that you could just walk in one and walk out the other even if the two
discs were far from each other. But why was there a set of such small discs?
It didn't matter. I knew how to get wealthy. I could take this alien technology, learn how to copy it, and then sell it and make a fortune.
