Then one morning they came to collect the birds. Before she realized what was going on, Becky was grabbed by her throat and stuffed into a narrow cage. Together with the other turkeys she was loaded onto a truck and a four hour ride followed. Then they were carried, still in their cages, into a large building. Here, the cage was opened and a woman grabbed Becky by her legs, putting her claws into a metal holder. Then she found herself hanghing head down on a conveyor belt. Before her, Becky could see how the birds were moved through a water4 basin, apparently electrified and how then their heads were chopped off. Becky fluttered in horror but to no avail. Before she knew it, her head dropped into the water and she went unconscious. Like an ordinary bird she was then defeathered, cleaned inside and outside and finally her nude body was shrink-wrapped and frozen. Three days later, a family bought her in a supermarket. On Christmas Eve, Becky was the star of the table. Brown and crispy, stuffed with a delicious filling and topped with Jelly she made a fantastic meal.
