The twins found a rabbit girl paralyzed with terror. Her heart was still beating fast, and there was a trace of blood on her chest. Their sensitive canine noses, however, told them that blood was from an actual rabbit, probably the one whose remains they had smelled on the way in. The Lone Wolf, they thought together.
"C'mon girl" one said gently. "We're going to take you somewhere safe now, OK?" The terrified rabbit gave a tiny nod yes, and one of the huskies gently brought her to her feet.
The Warren was the place in the park reserved for the rabbit morphs. Most were sociable creatures, and derived comfort from the presence of others of their species. The area was also off limits for all predators (except the huskies), so the rabbit-morphs could be free of the paralyzing fear many of them felt when confronted with beasts of prey.
The current informal leader of the warren, Lady Katerina, received the huskies and Terry. "Oh, this poor thing." she said "What happened?"
"She was terrorized by a wolf-morph." answered one of the huskies.
"Oh, no!" Katerina and two of the rabbit-women following her took Terry from the hands of the huskies. "We'll take her into the tunnels now, that's the best place for her. She'll feels safe there." Her eyes narrowed. One reason why Katerina was Lady of the Rabbit Warren was that she had a little more steel in her spine than most of them. "And you big, brave huskies will catch that wolf, won't you?"
"Yes, Ma'am!" replied the twins, in unison.

Despite Terry's belief that the Park was brainwashing people into not changing back to human, the line at the no-change back stations was considerably shorter than the line to get changed back on leaving the park. Naomi and Charlotte, giving off the glow of a couple in the first, magical phase of a relationship, found themselves in line with a female wild pig-morph, a male wolf-morph, and a female wolverine-morph. The pig-morph, Amy, was chattering away to anyone who would listen about how adopting the porcine form had cured her eating disorders and brought her into contact with her animal nature. Since she was a wild, not a domesticated pig-morph, her body was lean and powerful. Apparently, she had considered going feral but decided to return to her job as a junior high teacher. Charlotte wondered how her students would react. The male wolf-morph, Jonathan, struck up a conversation with Charlotte about living as a wolf in society. He was planning to head for one of the wolf communes to join a pack, something Charlotte had no interest in whatsoever. She pondered how differently different people reacted to their new species change. The wolverine-morph was silent, giving off an air of menace. Charlotte remembered how Naomi had once told her that the wolverine-morphs were the scariest, even scarier than the bear-morphs.

"That's it." said Harry to Zack and the twins. "We're running everything else on a skeleton staff. Every available husky is going to track down the Lone Wolf."
