"Let's go then!" Connie said from behind Maedel and I.
"Holy shit." Maedel shouted, whirling around.
"How long have you been there?" I asked.
"The whole time." Connie said with a grin.
"Well, I guess we can't let her stay here then." Maedel said.
"I guess. Connie, would you like to come with us?" I asked.
"Duh." Connie said, snapping her fingers. The bars on my window disintegrated.
"You can use magic?" Maedel shouted.
"Yeppers." Connie said.
"Since when?" Maedel asked.
"Since before now." Connie said.
"This is pointless." I said.
"Not at all! Let's go!" Connie said, leaping out my window.
"Crazy bitch." Maedel said as she began the climb down from my window.
Minutes later, the three of us were in the woods alone.
"Connie, why did you want to come anyway?" I asked.
"Because it seemed like what Morgana would do." Connie said.
"Quiet. I need a minute to concentrate." Maedel said. She was scurrying about like a hunting dog. Eventually,
she stopped. Maedel started running off. Connie and I tried to follow her, but weren't able to keep up. After
a few moments, Maedel returned.
"She's crossed the river, but her magic and the fact that she was flying mean I can still track her. However,
it's already late, so we're going to make camp on the other side of the river." Maedel said.
"Whee!" Connie cheered, sprinting toward the river.
"So, can we trust her?" Maedel asked.
"For the time being. She's smarter than she looks. Morgana ruined her mind, but I don't know to what extent."
I said.
