"Sir, are you okay?" One of the techguards asked, ducking his head in the door.
"Yeah, I'm fine. What about you? Any idea what to do with this?" Gabe said as the savant handed back the floppy disk.
"I... I don't know sir. Luther, do you have any ideas?" The techguard said, turning to his comrade outside the door.
"What is it?" Luther asked, coming into the room.
"An old piece of tech that holds all our answers." Gabe said.
"I think I've seen one of those before." Luther said.
"Really?" The savant asked.
"Yes. Caleb, do you remember that criminal we studied who used tremendously outdated technology to pull of crimes because he thought no one would be able to track him?" Luther asked, glancing at the other techguard.
"Vaguely. I remember his weaponry mostly. Revolvers with modifications to the barrel and chamber. Fantastic pieces of work." Caleb said.
"What does this have to do with anything?" The savant asked.
"All of his equipment is in storage at one of the techguard crime labs. I know for a fact that the equipment hasn't been touched in years. However, obtaining a permit to access them would be difficult from here." Luther said.
"So you think he might have something that could read this?" Gabe asked, holding up the floppy disk.
"It is highly possible." Luther said.
"However, actually having the chance to exercised this possibility may be an impossibility in and of itself." Caleb said.
"Unless we went without asking." The savant grinned. The techguards stared at him as if he had just stabbed a baby.
"What? I'm not suggesting we steal anything or something. We need this stuff if we wanna figure out who the killer is. All we really need to do is get that little... one second." The savant said, blinking. He produced a small blue light that scanned the floppy disk, "Get the floppy disk to the gear you guys are talking about and we're all set."
"Floppy disk?" Gabe asked.
"Don't ask me. I didn't name the thing, I just scanned it." The savant said.
"Whatever it's called, we can't just break into a techguard crime lab." Caleb said.
"Why not?" The savant asked.
"One: It is illegal. Two, as if there really needs to be a two: It is guarded by the most highly trained combatants in the galaxy. Three: We do not know exactly where in the lab our goal is. Four: We cannot actually leave the ship." Caleb said.
"There are ways around all those. Besides, it's not your call. Boss?" The savant said, turning to Gabe.
