“Maryanne? Are you awake?”
“Well I am now. And keep it down or you will wake up my mate.”
“It’s not very fair that you got a mate and I did not if you ask me.”
Henry drifts awake partly wondering what woke him and if he should go back to sleep. Keeping his eyes closed he thinks about getting more sleep enjoying the warm side of Maryanne against his own furry Dane pelt.
“Diana, complaining to me is not going to change anything. Henry is mine now.”
His name being spoken all traces of sleep are sudden gone from Henry as he now focuses on the conversation fully. Is the kennel lady talking to someone he wonders confused at not being able to smell any human scent in the general area?
“You bitch!”
“Now Diana there is no reason to act like a puppy. It’s not like you will never again be in heat.”
“Well I do not care as I need a male now. Lydia is very kind but she is a bitch the same as me not a male.”
Hearing his friend’s name Henry is not able to keep his eyes closed and pretend sleep any longer as he just has to know who is talking. But as he opens his eyes all he sees is a collie and his mate Maryanne. The two bitches wag tails then the collie wanders off down the kennel while Henry discovers his mate is ready for another mating as she stands and turns her rump toward him. But why did I hear talking when there was not a human in site he thinks very confused now but as he mounts his mate he finds other things that need his attention more then a puzzle over voices in the dark of night.
