Oddly, Harry felt undisturbed and calm. What had happened had happened, what would happen would happen. Trying to change the ordained order of things through violence, she thought, was a foolish mistake.
Just then a male pegasus-morph entered the room. A pegasus-morph, Harry thought. That must be what I am now. Didn't even know that was possible. She gave her wings an experimental flick. I wonder if I can actually fly?
Damn, that male pegasus-morph looked fine.

Agent Sherman woke up with a moderate hangover. Funny, this didn't look like a motel room. Hazy memories of the last night came to him. Dinner, drinks at a bar filled with hairy male anthromorphs with claws and teeth, Steve the skunkmorph lawyer suggesting that he could just put Sherman up at his place, more drinks, Steve's hand on his knee, who knew that skunkmorphs could do THAT with their tails, then the best sex of Agent Sherman's admittedly limited experience.
Just then Steve came in with a big grin on his face and two steaming cups of coffee on a silver platter. Agent Sherman grabbed for one. Steve laughed. "So, how do you like being male now?"

Cherry woke up cold and alone. She knew that she had temporarily sated her desires last night through sex with some buck she couldn't even remember, not even if he was one of the Order of the Stag or a park buck, then he had left with barely a thank you. This was to be her life now. Even Vinny, if he took her back, would treat her like a temporary convenience. Now that the Minotaur was a prisoner of the Labyrinth himself, he had plenty of time to think of his mistakes. It was clear the people who had approached him with these new ideas for the application of the technology had different ideas about where all this was heading. The Minotaur had never envisioned using people like Naomi and Charlotte, happy, productive anthros, as test subjects. And these attempts to mold the technology to serve dictatorial governments made him genuinely queasy.
And, frankly, using predator morphs as security hadn't really worked either. It was clear that they had a solidarity that excluded him, not just as an employer but on a more fundamental, biological basis. If he somehow made it out of this, he vowed to recruit bullmorphs like himself rather than predators to provide security.
The one thing he could draw consolation from was that they had a vested interest in keeping him alive and in control of his property.

Katerina met a husky when she left the Warren in the morning. No surprise there--on the walk through the Park to get to the departure gate, a walk on which predator-morphs were invariably encountered, many rabbits found comfort in the protection of a husky. What was a surprise was that the blond husky who introduced herself as "Goldie" told her that there were some major delays in processing and she should expect to have to wait at the gate. What was going on, Katerina wondered. On previous visits, she had been impressed by the smooth running of the operation.
