Medium Reading

added 9 years ago O

You decide to check the Medium Reading, it must be one of those phonies who gave you a prediction so vague is was bound to happen someway or another.

"Welcome Jack." said the woman inside, which startled you since you are Jack. She was old and dress as a gypsy, but all in white. "Come to reading, aren't we?" said the old woman again.

"I was just-" you stuttered.

"Come, I sense I must this one on the house, so free of charge if that's what worries you... then again it isn't, right Jack?" said the gypsy, she had nail it again. You were walking around the park because you were frankly depressed with your life, but she couldn't have meant that for sure.

"The cards doesn't lie, Jack. Come sit, I have already set them up for you." You figure, why not, the woman was trying her best, you could entertain her a little longer, you though.

"The first card, The Mount, Strong and mighty, yet so timeless is but a mere background most of the time. You have been raised well, your life has been plentiful, yet monotone and pedestrian, boring is the word I'm looking for?" Jack looked in awe, at fifteen that was just the attitude he had looking back at his life, indeed this encounter was the most exciting thing that has happened to him.

"Second card, The bones, are you really that dry up Jack, are you really tired of your life, do you believe the future is so bleak?" You hadn't met this woman for more than a couple minutes now and she was reading you like an open book.

You stand up assaulted you wanted to storm out of there, but she calm you again. "It doesn't have to be that way. Your third card, The Crossroads. I use a very special deck Jack, 108 cards it has, and when this one lands on the third means that I can give you a choice to change your life."

"I don't believe this bullshit. I'm out of here."

"Well is your choice, but tell me, is it really that hard to look at a mirror?" the old woman had a mirror cabinet, ten full body mirrors , one could see different angles of itself in it, like those on the fashion stores. You felt oddly compel to listen for the last time to the woman, and looked on them. At first there was only your reflection, but slowly that fade away looking at you was a young man, of short black hair, tan wearing a toga and sandals. "What the-" you stopped when you look at another, this time a blonde girl, in a modest dress.

"This mirror shows you your past and future lives, and like you they are in a crossroad, where you can contact them, or rather replace them. They also want more of their lives, but unlike you they don't have the help of a Medium, Jack, they are you from another time and like you they want a change on their lives, they want your life, you can have one of them if you wish. And it will have yours."

"Wait, is this for real?" somewhat incredulously.

"That's up to you? If I'm lying, I'm lying and that's it, you look like a fool for a couple seconds and then that's it. But what if I'm telling the truth?" pondered the old woman.

You think for a bit, she makes a compelling case, and you would like with all your heart she was being straight. "If..." you say shyly. "...if you were telling the truth... all I would have to do is choose?"

"Yes."

"Then... if you are telling the truth... I would choose..."
