We walked through the mall, having a good old time, and finally sat down on a bench to gather ourselves.
"Okay, girls!" I said with a smirk. "Time for some spending cash, don't you think?"
"Really?!" Michelle said excitedly.
"Yeah. Let's see if I can do this." I pulled the wallet out of my pocket and took out a ten dollar bill, the only thing of value in it. "Uh, let's do a magic trick, okay?"
"Okay." Steph leaned in, laughing. "I'm game."
"Me too!" Michelle chimed in, and leaned in close too.
I wished the ten would turn into a hundred. Which is promptly did in the blink of an eye.
"Omigod!" Both girls bounced excitedly.
"No way!" Steph slapped her knee. "That's too awesome!"
"Wait, wait." I said, loving the attention. "I have another one."
I wished the single hundred would duplicate nine times. Suddenly I was holding a small pile consisting of a thousand dollars cash.
Again, the girls reacted absurdly, squealing and hugging me tightly. That I didn't mind either.
"Wait! Time for the grand finale!" I insisted, pushing them away.
I wished that the thousand dollars I held would turn into six thousand. The bills multiplied in a blink with a crisp rustling sound.
"Oh damn!" Steph cried out. "Look at that!"
Somebody passed by and gave us a weird look. Just some stupid kids, probably.
"And here you go." I handed Michelle two thousand dollars cash and watched her eyes practically glisten with capitalist joy. "And here you go." I handed Steph two thousand as well, watching her leaf through it in disbelief. "The rest is for me."
"Aw, man..." Michelle said, barely breathing. "I have to go to that overpriced trendy clothing store! RHC! It's, like, my dream!"
"Her college buddies make fun of her cheap threads. We can't have that anymore, can we?" Steph explained.
"Awesome!" I gritted my teeth. Oh no. I had to go shopping now. For clothes. With girls.
"Hey, Joe doesn't seem too excited in a male kind of way." Steph interjected, seeing my look of 'aw crap.' She smirked at me and patted my back. "Why don't you go blow the lot and I'll stay with him and cruise."
"Oh, hell yeah!" Michelle stood up giddily and began to walk in the direction of her expensive girl store of stuff. "See you guys, later!"
"You like movies?" Steph asked.
"Yeah." I brightened.
"Then we need to go to Castle Pictures. They have movie stuff."
Suddenly a huge girly scream of delight sounded from down the mall and Steph looked at me in alarm.
"I turned her five into ten thousand." I shrugged, giggling.
Steph snorted-laughed, and shook her head as we began walking. "You're probably not going to see her ever again."
