Ty tried his best to get through the day without being discovered. It helped that the only attention his foster parents gave him was to tell him to do chores. It didn't help that his vulpine appendages moved around under their cover. Ty made sure to get those chores done before Mark or June made any mention of it. It worked for the most part. While Ty was having lunch though, Mark could have swore he saw the glimpse of a furry tail twitching at the end of Ty's pants. He looked at the beer in his hands for a second, and then put it down on the table in front of him.
"I've really gotta stop drinkin' this stuff." Mark said aloud. Ty looked at Mark in disbelief at hearing those words. So did Dustin.
"Why's that, dad?" Dustin asked. Ty's breath caught in his throat, as he suddenly had a very vivid idea why Mark had said this. He looked down and saw his tail waving at him from the bottom of his jeans. Not only that, but he saw new patches of fur growing on his hands. Ty hurriedly finished his lunch.
"'Cause I coulda swore I saw a fox tail peeking outta Ty's jeans there." Mark said. Now everyone was looking, and there was no hiding it. Ty's tail decided then and there that it wasn't going to be confined there any longer, and pulled itself out of his jeans. His ears flicked his hat off, exposing themselves too, and showing Ty's embarrassment as they folded back. Shortly after, a second tail grew alongside the first, both waving up and down in opposite directions at the same time.
"Dad... I don't think it was the beer..." Dustin said, only just hiding a wicked grin of sweet, sweet revenge on his face as he saw his chance to prove what Ty had done to him. Ty had to think quickly.
"Um... Surprise...?" Ty said. Lamest. Line. Ever.
"Looks like you've got some explaining to do, Fox-Boy." Mark said with genuine curiosity in his eyes and humor in his voice when he said "Fox-Boy". Ty and Dustin were both absolutely surprised to find not even a single ounce of venom in his voice. It was as if Mark now actually had a reason to like Ty. The grin of revenge fell from Dustin's face. Caught off guard, Ty just automatically began spilling out the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. Everything from discovering his power to manipulate space and time around him on his 15th birthday yesterday to turning into a girl, to getting pregnant (though not from who. He got his senses back enough to avoid telling them he'd just screwed their son last night), to discovering the effects of pregnancy on himself, to now.
When Ty told them he had the power to manipulate time and space, they suddenly grew fearful, but calmed down as time passed, even getting amused by the part where he'd turned himself into a girl. In the middle of confessing what he'd done to Dustin, he changed Dustin back, at the cost of growing fur up his legs, which seemed to gain a feminine figure to them.
"Now, could you tell me why you seem so nice to me all of a sudden? Seriously, who are you and what have you done to the slave driver I once knew?" Ty finished, jokingly. Mark sat up straight and faced Ty head-on.
"Well, I just happen to really like foxes." Mark said simply. 'Wait, what? That's the big reason? Ha! You've gotta be kidding me!' Ty thought. "Stupid reason to do that, I know, but lot's of people do things for much stupider reasons, believe me." Mark continued. "I once knew this guy who swore never to set foot near a bar in his life, but then went right on in one because a black cat crossed his path. And it was a gay bar."
"Oh yeah, I think I heard you say something about him last week." Ty said, remembering the conversation with his hand-paw on his chin. It was one of the few nights he actually got a laugh out of the conversations. If he'd been able to join any conversations, he'd no doubt make them more lively with his interpretations of what is said. For now though, what should he do?
