"Where do you want to go now, Jen-Jen?"
You hear the name echo through your mind erasing the remain memories of before you were a clown and replacing them with growing up with one. Learning how to do clown tricks and gags from you parents, meeting Ralphy in Upper Clown school and falling in love all come rushing in to replace the lost ones.
You blink you long lashes and look up at him.
"I want to go out on the town Ralphy"
You see his eyes go unfocused and you reach up and honk his nose, he looks at you and smiles.
You two exit the room and out into the island. There are crowds of people walking around having a good time, they notice you and smile. Ralphy and you return the favor and pull gags and tricks on them and each other, juggle things and make realistic balloon animals. You are rewarded by laughter and big smiles that send a thrill through you that is almost better than sex.
You and Ralphy just finish entertaining a group of people when a muscular guy obviously in a very bad mood carrying a empty beer can push through you two knocking you back.
"Move it you fucking clowns, I need another drink"
You are taken a back at such rudeness
"Come on, let us put a smile on your face" shouts Ralphy
"Fuck you, I hate fucking clowns. I hate their tricks. I hate how they smile all the time. I hate how they look. I hate how they act. You ain't never gonna put a smile on my face"
He throws the can at him and starts to turn away
"You know Ralphy, I think it is time for us to start a family"
You pull a cream pie with a cherry on top from out of nowhere behind your back.
"I'm sure we can put a smile on your face" you throw the pie and hit him dead center in his face, you've always had good aim at pie throwing as you admire your work.
He staggers back and falls on his ass, you see the veins in his neck start to bulge and turn red. He wipes the cream away from his mouth and opens it to surely let lose a string of profanity but lets out a laugh.
His laughter continues as he wipes away the cream from his face but the white does not wipe away and spreads to his hands and then slowly starts to spread outward to the rest of his body. His eyebrows disappear and black drawn on ones replace them higher on his forehead. The cherry stays on his nose, you really did hit him dead center, and attaches itself and grows to become a bright red clown nose. His body starts to lose definition and shrink. He grows shorter and his laughter gets higher and turns to giggles as he gets younger and younger. The white spreads to his scalp and his hair starts to curl and turn orange like his father's but with red highlights. A red blush forms on his cheeks and orange triangles below his eyes. His feet do not shrink with the rest of his body but grow larger. His clothes reform around him into a one piece suit orange on one side and red on the other with yellow pom-poms down the center, green ruffs appear around his neck and wrists. Red shinny shoes engulf his feet with yellow laces. Finally his lips turn red and widen it turns up in to a permanent big red smile.
"Told you we could put a smile on your face"
He jumps up and runs to you and embraces both of you in a big hug.
"Thanks mommy, Can we go to the carnival?"
"No" you reply "we have to find your ...."
