"I can tell you my story, if you want." Said Gisela. "But if you do, I strongly recommend you to sit down."
Kevin opted to just do that, siting next to the door, where he was able to lend is back on the wall.
"You know, I once was a man, just like you." Kevin's jaw hit the floor. "I loved by an incredibly gorgeous woman, whom I loved her back. But she still feared that I was going to dump her if I discovered her huge secret: that she wasn't human, but a magical being called a mermaid."
"Like all natural mermaid, she needed a potion to make her look human and be able to walk on hearth. One day, I've got my hands on one of her bottles, and thinking it was some kind of syrup, drunk some of it. Luckily, she saw me referring the bottle and guessed what happened, and explained to me what that potion was, and that we needed ask the help of her kin asap."
"The mermen doctors said that I was lucky I got to see them so soon, thanks to that it was still possible to save me. But that wasn't without a price: I will loose my manhood and become a mermaid. I will also be immune to the effect of the potion. They explained to me that it was linked to the build-in securities of the potions. Said protections were created to prevent the death of any human that drink it, by making it be a mer-folk. But it's an imperfect security that can't protect the ones that drink the potion made for the other sex."
"To save me, they simply needed to magically remove my old species and sex, to make place to the new ones the potion was forcing on me."
"When I awoke after the operation I was 100% mermaid, and still very uncomfortable with my new gender and species. (It's no longer the case, as you can see.) Then, a doctor came to see me and claimed that, after the removal of my humanity they found that, unlike my manhood, it was still intact. So they sealed it in this necklace in it." Gisela said, pointing to the one setting on the shelf. "As long as I wear it, I can choose to be either woman or mermaid, and it's origin made it working on me only. It don't have any effect on anyone else."
"Well… It's a nice story and all." Said Kevin. "But… What that have to do with me?"
"It's funny that you ask, Kevin." The mermaid responded. "You see…"
