Jane was in fact a leprechaun. She disguised herself as a human to marry her husband Tom.
She left her husband to clean up the dinner she'd made for her family.
Jane was alone with her baby Molly, so she took the chance to take on her true form.
In a flash of green, she was only two feet tall, emerald green eyes, long orange curly hair, freckles on her face, and pointy ears each six inches long. All her clothes had shrunk to fit, and were green.
"I dearly wish they were all as accepting of me true self as you Molly." she told her baby girl.
"How would I 'ere explain it to the lot of 'em?"
Just then, her ears picked up someone near the door she had accidentally left open!
