Todd carefully adjusted the remote to enlarge Gretta back to her normal size, noting his nervousness as he literally held her entire life in his hand, and rounded her off to 15 feet long just to be nice.
"Here we go, little girl. You'll be back to normal in a minute." He let the remote ding and set down on the table.
"Move us to the floor again?" She asked nicely, feeling a pleasant tingling starting. "I don't feel like wrecking everything when I grow."
"A smart choice." Todd gently scooped her up in his arms, belly up, even as she started to grow. He sat down on the floor with her cradled like that, and watched as she let out a sigh of relief.
"Okay. Now that I can vocalize..." She sighed, tail dangling over his elbow as she hit three feet long. "And I'm not a puddle."
"Yes?" Todd smirked nervously.
"Well, this is great!" Gretta said, her voice lowering a little as she gained back size in Todd's arms. "I mean, weird, but great!"
"The growth?" He watched, feeling her leathery form stretch and grow heavier in his arms. Not an all together unlikeable feeling.
"Yes, I'm getting my size and stature back." She winked. "That too. But... I must be the only intelligent speaking crocodile in the whole world. And... you did that to me. Just because."
Todd shifted as Gretta reached five feet in length, her body now starting to get a lot heavier in his lap. "Well, thanks, I think. Do you like it?"
"Yes." She said sweetly, nuzzling the bottom of his chin with her head. Soon enough, she was six feet long, sitting on her hind legs, cuddling the human as she grew bigger and bigger.
Soon even sitting like that she was taller than him, and then as she reached her full size she was holding him close to her chest, breathing evenly. "That was kind of cool."
"Yeah, really surreal. Look at you! You're big again!" Todd rubbed her chest happily. "Now I don't feel like such an asshole."
The crocodile laughed and set herself down on a more natural all fours. "Am I bigger than before?" She looked herself over. "I feel... bigger."
"Just a little. I rounded your length off." Todd leaned back and sat next to the croc.
"Well, that was nice of you! A little extra for messing me up, huh?"
"Pretty much." Todd said sheepishly.
"So now what?" Gretta rumbled. "Any big plans for me? Are we going to stay in this utility room forever?"
"What do you want?" Todd cocked his head to the side.
The Crocodile chuckled again. "Well, we could do smarten up my dumbass mate, there. Or maybe you and I should run off together. Keep doing this crazy ass remote thing. I admit I'd like to not go back to my cage. I don't have the dexterity to pick the locks, you know?"
"Maybe I could fix that." Todd grinned.
"Oh?" Gretta raised her eye ridge. "How you gonna do that, mammal? Give me monkey hands like you?"
"No, no, how about we make you more... uh, flexible??" Todd grinned.
"You lost me." Gretta growled.
"Imagine if you combined a human and a big crocodile into one thing and the same, although half and half. What would you get?"
"A crocomonkey?" Gretta offered, snort-laughing. Then her eye widened in realization. "Wait... you mean, like... put me on two legs instead of four? That's what the flexible thing is, right?"
"Well, if you don't want to be associated with us apes." Todd stood up, teasing. "I can go change something else."
"Hey, hey! Buddy!" Gretta said with amused smoothness. "I'm not knocking the monkeys, okay? Just humans in general. You piss me off. But you're not talking about making me human, right?"
Todd leaned down and grinned. "Nope."
"I'm kind of interested now." Gretta looked up at him. "So we're talking, like, crocodile... woman? Like a hybrid?"
"Yep." Todd nodded excitedly.
"Sign me up, remote guy!" Gretta growled excitedly. "But so help me, if you put one strand of smelly monkey fur on me, I'll snap your damn face off!"
"Are you calling me smelly?" Todd grinned.
"No. Monkeys are smelly." Gretta grumbled. "Humans at least bathe. Well, most of you."
