John and Carrie browsed the store, walking up and down the many many aisles of the assorted costumes that were in all shapes and sizes. The amount of choices there were was enough to put anyone into a dizzying move. Around aisle 27, Carrie spotted something that really caught her eye: an adorable tan meerkat costume. She picked it up and inspected it, it's eyes looked so bright and full of life and it had the cutest paws and stripes running down it's back. On it's tag the costume said that it was one size fit's all and that the zipper would be completely concealed when wearing it.
"You like that one?" John asked.
Carrie replied with "Yeah, I think I'll get try it on first though."
Taking the costume from the shelf, Carrie walked up to the fitting rooms, where a bored looking teenage rat salesclerk was waiting. "Can I help you, ma'am?" said the clerk, not even bothering with holding back a sigh.
"Um, yes! I would like to try this costume on," Carrie motioning towards the fuzzy costume she had draped over an arm.
"Right though here," said the rat, opening a door for Carrie to enter.
John waited outside, half-heartily looking through the other costumes while Carrie put hers on. On the other side of the fitting room door, John heard a shriek and then some very cartoonish sounds of things getting banged around, and then it was quiet for a tense moment. John started to get worried, "Carrie?... are you alright in there."
With that Carrie's voice emanated from the fitting room, "I'm fine... but can someone open the door for me?"
John looked at the salesclerk worried as to what happened to his wife. The rat sighed and put down the magazine that he was leafing through and opened the door to the fitting room. Stepping out was what John could only assume was Carrie, only as a meerkat and only about a one foot tall, still retaining her bangs. Carrie looked rather incredulous as her tail twisted around behind her and her ears wiggled a bit as if getting used to the new appendages.
Carrie looked up at the now gargantuan salesclerk and her equally giant husband, "Sorry, I couldn't reach the doorknob after I put the costume on..."
The salesclerk was already bored back flipping through his magazine. "Well, what did you expect, meerkats aren't that tall after all. If you take the costume off and you'll be your boring old self again."
After a glare at the salesclerk for calling her boring, John knelled down near his wife, "So do you like it?"
"Yeah! It's totally great, look at how cute I am!" Carrie said, spinning around showing off her furry self, squeezing her toonish nose, lifting her paws, swishing the tail and slicking down the fur on her striped back. Carrie then jumped and climbed up onto John's shoulder. "So did you find a costume for you while I was in there?"
